I love these flowers! Think about how popular flowers are this season--they are on everything! Headbands, clips, shoes, sweaters... Now you can make them to match and coordinate with home, shoes, gifts... Whoo hoo!

Great, fabulous, cool project Susan!! This die is to die for! I love all the pix - if each one is worth 1,000 words, then today's blog is the equivalent of the Encyclopedia Britannica!! ;D The flowers are adorable - and so is Mac. I can't believe he would stay still long enough for you to snap his photo! Gail

I hope Mac got a little treat after sitting so nicely!
A couple of questions: how wet did you make your 6x12 piece of fabric and di you 'squish' into the fabric and then smooth it out?

I was trying to figure out how to describe how wet I made the fabric...hmmmm....I put the good side of the fabric laying down on the paper towels {that were laying on top of the newspaper} so I'm looking at the wrong side of the fabric. I sprayed until the fabric was damp - thoroughly damp, verging on wet. But definitely not drippy, soggy, puddling or in need of wringing out.
Then I nuked it. The wetter it is the stiffer it's going to get - but the longer it's going to take to nuke. So just sortof play with it until you figure out how wet it needs to look - it really doesn't take that much at all...I was surprised.
The nice thing is - you can always add more!
hope that helps a bit...

I LOVE all the pics- the more the better!!! I am a visual learner so I like lots of pictures. I think it is my lack of patience to read through instructions. I would rather see the pics and get going on the project.
I love the flowers!! The dies are the perfect size for many purposes. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.

Until QK get's their new felt out, try WoolFelt. JoAnn's sells it by the yard and it cuts really well. But I don't think it's as thin or nice as the QK felt.
You can try using spray starch for cutting cottons. It won't mold as nicely as Susan's medium, but it will help if a fabric isn't cutting. Just use a heavy hand.
I have a trip planned to Mike's to check out Susan's new stiffy-stuff. I like that it's moldable. The flower has so much dimension!

I had a 50% off coupon for Joann's but the Siffy Stuff was purchase online only. so I ordered it and a bunch of fabric quarters . This is the problem I have in my area. It is easier for me to pay the $5 shipping because 95% of the time I can't find the specific item I'm looking for. I was able to get the Stffy for $3.00 but had to pay $5 to have it shipped. that is why I threw in some fabric-----save the gas. The felt on the other hand is a different story. I want to make sure I pick up the right stuff.

Dania, you can use the coupons online. But luckily the Stiffy Stuff was cheap! Also, next time you order, do a Google search for "joanns free shipping." There is a code for free shipping off a $40 purchase. But they have good shipping prices if the shipping was only $5. Most minimum shipping costs are more than that.
Just remember that time is money. If you had gone to the store, you would have used gas, your time and probably gotten a coffee. It all adds up!
My store has more colors than the online store. And QK's felt will be coming soon. Then we will be very, very happy!

I bought the last bottle of stiffy stuff at Mike's yesterday...the checker said they'd suddenly had a "run" on it, so I'm guessing that we have a bunch of guests in my area who just read the MB and the blog. Now I'm going to have to take a deep breath and visit the local Jo Ann's (our store has really bad customer service and long, long lines to check out with the one person who will come up to any one of the 4 registers ). Maybe Monday...definitely not today!

Dania, many times it is easier to just pay the shipping and get exactly what you want without any hassle. With gas almost $4.00 a gallon you don't even have to rationalize much.

hahaha - this is so funny! I ran to Mike's yesteday to pick up a bottle of Stiffy Stuff for my neighbor {it's her birthday this weekend} - they were out! When I was there the other day casing out what aisle to tell you all to find yours in there were about 8 bottles on the shelf. I asked one of the oh-so-helpful clerks and she says "what's up with that stuff...everyone wants it!" HAHAH - we've started a stampede ladies!!!! Too funny! I'm glad you found it online Dania - I forget that not everyone has a Mike's near them. I haven't looked for it at Hobby Lobby or Joanns. As far as felt goes - my Joanns only has grey, black, white, cream, dark evergreen, red and an ugly pea-soup green...like chartreuse. So I"m going to case out HL today and see if they have a wool blend felt on a roll. I need SPRINGY colors - pink and orange and yellow and lime! Fingers crossed - hoping everyone can find all the goodies they want!! The best news is the Posey die is back in stock right now - HOORAY Dani!!!

I had thrown in some paper and the shipping went to $9, so needless to say I didn't need the paper that much.

That is what I found at my Michaels as well - I had to dig to get the Stiffy Stuff. So we have a few readers in the Burlington NC area!
Like the vent covers at Lowes, we are now going to drive the ordering folks at Mike's just crazy!
My HL had a nice selection of felt, so I bout a 1/4 yard of several colors.

Susan! "Stiffy" I thought it was something "new" I didn't realize that it was fabric stiffener. I was able to get away during, lunch time and stop at Craft Warehouse today and went back to their quilting section and "lo and behold" there it was on the shelf! I have fabric stiffener that I use to stiffen crochet doilies that my MIL made. I never thought about using it to make "cardstock"! CW had quilt quarters buy 4 get 1 free, so I picked some up! Can't wait to try it out! You have given me so many great ideas now! Thank you!!!!!!!
