Betty, yes I read the thread. What we will do is mail out our cards to everyone in the exchange between the 25th and 30th of every month. So if you start in August then between August 25th and August 30th will be your first mailing.
sorry i did not address that prior thread so you would know that I was talking to you. I am a goof ball sometimes...lol

Me? a pro? ;D No way! I wish!
I had my share of swaps ...I love 'em. Usually people either buy the envelopes (and embellish them) or make them match the card. I am lazy, so I am buying and embelishing rather than making them.

I love the idea, but I am not joining. I've been in a swap before but besides my job, houseweork (ugh) and the occasional pages and cards I make I hardly have any time left to join another swap. I have been in an ATC swap for a little over 2 years now and I even have problems to finish my atc cards in time... sorry.. It sounds like fun.
So... have fun everybody!!

What is the plan as far as the exchange? I sit going to be a tradional swap where we send all the cards to the hostess, and then the hostess sends all the cards to each recepient in one envelope, or are we just mailing each person a card on the address list on our own. I think we should do the latter only because it is going to be easier. I have been a swap hostess before, and there is always someone that does not send enough postage, etc. Just checking.

Danica,
I agree with the latter. Let's all just mail our cards on our own to the other participating.

Mail it to all the recipients? That will not be cost efficient I think. We will have to buy a bigger envelope to mail the card and envelope inside.
Can we just mail them all to the hostess instead? I rather send a couple of extra stamps for those that have less than needed than to have to buy envelopes to mail to everyone. Even if I buy the manila envelopes in the dollar store, they cheapest ones are 2/1.00 and I would be worry that they get bent before reaching the recipient. I also have participated in B-day swaps before where everyone was supposed to mail like that and I never received my gifts from some people so Im not a big fan of the mail yourself swaps. Goldie (from another MB) made swaps for severalk months and what we did was to mail our manila envelopes with 10 cards p.e, and another pre-addressed enveloped inside and extra stamps and it worked. We can always make standard sized cards (half-fold) to avoid problems with the size of the envelope.
Just my 0.02

I think that it will be easier, and that way, if you are missing somebody's cards you can always ask in this MB for "angels" to fill the spot out. I can donate some stamps for those that are missing 1 or 2 stamps, for example. Of course, everyone can try to send the same amount that it took them plus some extras stamps . I am up to what the the swap members decide, but I would prefer to do it with the hostess (previous experiences on 1 on 1 had been bad) or if you are sending it directly keep the swap very small (I don't want to go broke right before CHA either ;D)

I am confused now. Are we doing cards and envelopes? I guess when people were talking about decorating the envelope we were just talking about decorating the address part of the envelope for the recipient. I am not all into the decorating the envelope too. Ok Pamela, time to set some rules!!

I have done a card swap with 35 people before with other Stampin' Up! demos, so I don't mind. I've made 100 before for convention, so the more the merrier. We just need a cut off.

Here we go
1. Make 8 cards 2. August theme is Friends, Friendship... 3. Mail to me between July 25th and August 1st 4. Enclose an envelope that will hold you returned cards 5. Please enclose 8 envelopes that fit your size of cards. The card envelopes can be purchased or made. They do not have to be decorated but if you do that is ok also
Let me know if I have left anything out. I have mine planned out already. I hope everyone will have fun. I can't wait for all the new ideas jam going to have!! ;D

Weaselwatcher, not exactly sure on all the details. I would think so, but maybe so long that it is a friendship card that's all that matters.
But please don't quote me, as I have never, never done this before.
I have to be honest, I'm a little scared they might not like them.
Since this is my first group I have ever joined.
I'm doing to keep my self busy, since I stay at home all day by myself.
My husband works all day so I'm by myself all day.
