I am going to a scrapbook retreat next week and I just got an e-mail with a list of things to bring and one of the items is a chair cushion. I remember seeing a chair organizer and cushion combination years ago, I think it was made by StoneCreek and it was called the Krafters Komfycush, but I haven't seen anything like that at any scrapbook stores lately. Does anyone have any suggestions for what kind of a cushion to bring for fold up chairs at the retreat?

Mulchlady I know you can pick up kitchen/dinning room chair cushions at almost any department store, wally world, bed n bath type stores. If I was getting one for a folding chair, I make sure it had a non-skid type of material on the bottom side.... find one thats comfortable for you.....Add some pockets on the sides by using 2 rectangular place mats and ribbons, fabric glue. Fold place mat long ways leaving a 1 or 2 inches on one side for the top and a way to attach to the chair cushion. Run fabric glue up both sides and on the middle to form pockets. Attach ribbon to several different points on the 1 or 2 inch top of place mat and attach matching ribbon on chair cushion. If you sew make button holes along the top of the place mat pockets and sew buttons on the cushion...to attach the pocket. (being a sewer I'd sew my pockets in the place mats.) I not very good at giving instructions, but maybe you can get the general idea. Cat

I do know what sort of chair pad you are looking for, but darned if I could find it anywhere! I'm not a chair pad person--I have plenty of my own built in cushioning! But if you want a cushion, I'd do as Cat suggests--look for a regular pad with a non-skid bottom. Otherwise it will get knocked to the floor every time you stand up. I doubt that I would worry about pockets on the side. I would forget what I put in there and make myself crazy trying to find it! But maybe that's just me. Michelle

I'm like Michelle I have built in cushion....and the only reason I would have the pockets is for Kleenex, baby wipes or hand wipes, and some folded paper towels. If you have those items covered in a tool bags I skip the pockets too. I have a apron with pockets I use when I need those items in a small space. One of the old fashion ones that the front and back are like adult sized baby bibs and ties on the sides with pockets in the front. (really keeps my Kleenex and hand wipes handy) Cat PS I would sew a cord or something to slip over my arm to carry it with so I didn't need to carry it in my hands. That way I could slip over a rolling bag handle, arm, or carry it in a hand with other bag handles.

Thanks for the great ideas! I will have to see if I am feeling crafty enough to try to attempt and sew one of those this week, I am betting I won't though, so I will probably just go with the non-skid chair cushion. I will be sorting and organizing for this retreat! I appreciate your help!!
