I recently bought an item on Ebay that said it could be returned in 7 days. I got it Thursday and it is not going to work for me. I emailed the seller about returning it on Friday and again today, but have not heard anything back from them as of yet. Also, before I got the item in the mail the seller only responded to one of my several emails with questions or concerns and that one email stated that my package was sent to an invalid addy and was relabeled and resent. Not sure if I believe that since the snail mail addy was the same with just the last 4 digits in the zip added. Could someone please help me in how to go about returning this item so I am not out the money. Do I just send back to the addy on the package or do I wait for the seller to respond where it should be mailed to? What if the seller does not respond at all before the 7 day return time? Is it 7 days until I can ship the item back or does it have to arrive to the seller in 7 days? Thank you!

I don't think I've ever returned an ebay item. But, I do know that ebay has an appeal/mediation board that you can use. I would make sure that you can prove that you sent the emails inquiring about a return and print them off and save them in a file. Dig around in ebay and check on their policy for filing a claim. Does the listing ask that you contact the seller before returning the item? Do you have the address to send the returned item? Depending on how you feel about it, you could just send it back to the seller since you have in good faith tried to contact them. However, the seller may be out of town over the weekend. I might wait to see what happens tomorrow. In the meantime, do your research. If you don't hear from here tomorrow, contact ebay and see what they have to say. Good luck! Maybe someone here has more ideas than I have. I've had good luck with ebay, but have gotten burned a few times as well. If all else fails, can you resell the item yourself? I know, a hassle. I'm just trying to think of other options. Michelle

Keep a copy of all the emails and document everything.

Wait until Monday...
Then if you don't hear from the seller, notify Ebay (there's a way to do that, so look around their website).
If you decide to return the item before you hear from the seller, be sure to spend the extra money to send it "return receipt requested", so that you'll have proof that you did indeed return it, and that it was received on the seller's end.
And Dania is right...document everything!
I hope this works out positively for you!

Thank you everyone! I have kept all the emails I have sent and the one I received from the seller. This is the return info from the listing: "Return policy Item must be returned within 7 days after the buyer receives it Refund will be given as Money Back Return policy details The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs." I will wait out today and will then contact Ebay.

If ebay doesn't help you efficiently and you paid by Pay pal then Pay pal will refund you and go after the money from the seller. You have to give the seller sufficient time to answer you.
