Phyllis, I love your cookie cutter storage idea! Can you tell me where you get the boxes and magnetic sheets? Also who makes them? I need to get a handle on my cookie cutter dies.

Phyllis, share your secrets with all of us. This is such a great idea. So simple!

Not really a secret Michelle. Dawn sent me a PM too and I answered her question there before I saw it here.
I bought those big magnetic sheets - about 24" long at the craft store (4.50 with 50% off coupon) and cut them down to 9X6 to fit the box. I could get 5 sheets out of 1 large sheet. Unfortunately they started making the sheets thinner so now they bend, which makes the cookie cutters fall off if you hold them wrong so I may start backing any new ones with cardstock or something to stiffen them. I'm not sure if those sheets have adhesive on the back but I know some of the magnetic sheets have adhesive.
The boxes are a few years old and were from Target. They had pre-made cards in them and dividers and I liked the boxes and got them pretty cheap (clearance). The boxes are 7" tall, 9 1/2" across, and 4 1/2" deep. I put all the dividers from both boxes into 1 and covered up their printed "Birthday", etc. with my own categories. For the other box I bought a $1.00 package of file folders and made my own dividers and labeled them. I know the box thing at Target might not help much now but like I told Dawn I also remember Hallmark having a promotion once where if you bought a couple cards you could purchase a box for storing your cards in and it was the same size so they probably sold them too. I'm just not sure if Hallmark still sells empty boxes like it or not but they may.
It does make it easy. I just pull out the sheet I need and bring it to my desk. In most cases a whole alphabet fits on 1 sheet and I can fit 2-3 sets of nesting dies on 1 sheet.

What craft store? I have looked in every craft store in my area and can't find anything any bigger then the vent covers.
It is a really cool idea and I think I have seen those card storage boxes at Hallmark.

Thanks for letting me know. I think the divas are going to scraplift a lot of ideas!!! I was talking with Katie earlier so I could scraplift her storage solution for her dies. The divas are a inventive group!!!! Thanks! Cindy

Yep, it was AC Moore. They have an even bigger one. Not sure how big it is but its like $20 or $30 and it's rolled up. In my store they have the magnetic sheets with all the different glues.

Phyllis, my store doesn't have that big sheet. That would have been nice to use when I covered the back of my sewing machine cabinet. Well, the deed is done now. And the price is really cheap when you can use a coupon.

Phyllis,
I found the magnetic sheets at ACM. I got the 9x12 size and they seem to be a nice thickness. Now I just need to find a good box.

Oh good, you found them Dawn. Were the 9x12 sheets sturdier at your store too? I was bummed when they started making the larger sheets thinner but at least you can cut 2 sheets out of the 9x12 if you cut them the same size I was cutting mine. I hope you find a good box or two for them now. I thought about hole punching them and putting them in a binder at one point but I don't have that much flat working space and if I have to open a binder it takes up all my work space.

I just saw a box in the "current" catalog. I don't remember if dimensions were listed but I know it was a box to store cards in.
