My DH suggested that I whine a bit to people who might actually listen, so here I am! Yesterday my printer died, so I will now be installing the new printer's software on my computer as soon as I have time to read the instructions. Then, as I was counting change and rolling coins, that machine quit, and refused to work again...not a big thing, but just annoying. Oh, and best of all ... at about 10:00 last night, we heard a thump outside and then a huge whooshing noise. It turned out that our neighbor's teenage guest backed out of their driveway in his brand-new (not even the license plates, yet) Camero...right into the fire hydrant at the corner of our yard, knocking it completely off the base. The "fountain" was impressive...probably 20 feet in the air, washing mud, rocks, and bark down our street, around the corner, and on down the next street for a couple of blocks. We had the fire department looking for the shut-off valve (it was covered in all of the water, etc.), a police officer taking a report and checking to make sure the under-age driver hadn't been drinking, and finally the water service guy showed up with a map and they were able to get the water shut off. Fortunately, no one was injured and the car got only a small dent in the bumper. All in all, the event was probably a good thing, because we were standing outside while Brian Wilson, the Giants closer, gave the game away on a silver platter ... Okay, the whimpering and whining is over...thanks for listening, if you've read this far!

Did today get any better? Mom said there would be days like these--disaster seems to come in threes--hopefully you are done with the bad! Michelle

Not unless Rose looks like a teenaged boy! I have an even better story, though... My DH's late wife (my best girlfriend) once drove away from a gas station, with the nozzle still in her car. It pulled the pump off the base and dragged it a short distance before she realized what happened!

Oh Diane! What a night! Hope everything is back to normal now and you're lucky you missed the end of that game the other night. It's good to see tonights game is turning in the Giants favor right now. They all looked sooooo bummed out when Atlanta got that homerun in the 8th inning but now they're ahead 3-2 so there's hope!!!! Phyllis
