Hi all,
Now that I got the "bone folder" out of the way, I was wondering what everyone would have to take to a scrap event if they were going to one.
I'm trying to pack up my stuff and wanted to be sure that I have everything I needed and figured you wonderful ladies would have some great suggestions as you always do!!!
Thanks! Cindy

If I were going to an event, I would take my trimmer, scissors, adhesive, maybe some die cuts (cut at home so I didn't have to take the dies), paper*, and embellishments to go with the paper. Then I'd add everything else that I could cram in my crop bag!
*I've been to a couple of Creative Memories crops, where the demonstrators did not allow "outside" paper, and one of them even expressed discomfort with tools that weren't CM's. I know that the intent of a CM crop is to sell their products, but they need to let people know in advance that everything will be supplied for the participants.

Cindy I don't go to crops anymore, because I'm the one who hosts them. But I remember sorting my pictures and coordinating my papers before I went. Using a 12x12 box I would place the pictures then the papers that were to go with those pictures and continue to build ontop of it. Adhesives, embellishements, paper trimmer and scissors. Markers or pens for journalling. To be honest with you if I had to go to a crop I would be lost on what to take. I'm so use to working with my entire scrapbooking room.

Cindy, depends on what you what to accomplish. Crops can be such social events, that I tend to tone down the supplies I take.
Last crop I went to I took the supplies to make my Christmas cards and managed to get over 40 of them completed. I was still able to visit and came home feeling like I got something accomplished.
Hope you have a terrific time

I recommend "kitting" your pages. Pick out pictures, papers, embellies, etc and put them in zip bags or stack them in a box (like an Isis box.) That way, you aren't the person hauling in 10 totes of "stuff" and digging throught it all and no one can pass by!
Be sure to bring the obvious things. Scissors, trimmers, adhesives. I went to a crop once and left that all at home!
I always bring drinks. I'm pretty particular about that!

Make sure any drinks aren't in open containers - one false move and disaster I agree with everyone above, you can't bring everything (though I've been at crops where some have clearly tried! ) It helps to narrow your focus, and realize you won't accomplish nearly as much as you might at home. Print out photos ahead of time, and making page "kits" like Michelle describes will really make you more productive. Bring a bit of finished work along too, to share with others - half the fun is seeing what others are doing, and learning their techniques. Trimmer, Scissors, Adhesive, Ruler, Pens, Ott-light would be the minimum for me. (Lighting can be really poor at some of these things!) Photos, Paper, Embellishments. Maybe a snack to share. Main thing - remember to relax, socialize, and have fun! Gail

Good point about the drinks, Gail! I'm a diet Coke fan and always stop at a convenience store so that I can have a screw-top bottle rather than a can when I'm at a crop. Even spilled water can ruin someone's page. And I'd recommend no glitter! I'm glittering today and it's all over. I'm sparkly! It truly is the STD of crafting. (glitter is forever...) Michelle

You know Michelle, if you have enough glitter on your face at the upcoming ceremony, no one will notice your arm!! (Sorry, but the devil made me say it! ) Gail

You are going to love this! DH told me to get one of those temporary tatoo things. He said to just slap it on over the lump and no one would know! Then I suggested one of those sleeved shirts.
Whenever DD gets dressed up, she always throws a little pixie dust into the air and walks through it. I used to do this for her before ballet recitals. The girls loved it, but I'm sure the custodians hated me!
