Hello Ladies, I have been asked my many to share my story. This is harder than I thought to do. I don't like typing this out because it does not define me. I have breast cancer and this is my second go round with this disease. It has spread to my organs and is mostly in my spine. Yes I am on chemo and have been for over a year this round. Chemo will go on indefinitely so I can live as long as possible and I plan on being around for a long time to come. Yuck it doesn't look good written out but understand I am happy and love life. It am constantly thankful to God for my life. Dawn

Dawn we have spoken and I already know this, but reading your words were hard. There is something about the written word. My prayers are with you as you know. Our God in the business of healing, so I ask that He show mercy towards you and make you whole on this earth so you can be the wife, mother, friend, loving and kind person He has created you to be and do this all for His Glory.

Our God in the business of healing, so I ask that He show mercy towards you and make you whole on this earth so you can be the wife, mother, friend, loving and kind person He has created you to be and do this all for His Glory. I will make no attempt to say this better than Dania's loving words. It was difficult to read, but you have made it possible for all of us to share your challenges. I have four friends who are "in chemo" right now, and I am awed by the courage of all of you to face your enemy directly. My prayers also will remain...

Dawn, I'm in awe of your bravery in writing this post and fighting this battle. I, too, can't think of much to add to Dania's eloquent words. As a physician, I have come to understand there is a difference between being cured and healed. I have had patients who were cured, but never healed; and those who could not be cured, yet were healed. And the very fortunate few who achieved both. Dawn, I can see by your words and attitude that you are healed, and I will hope and pray for your cure as well. Gail

Dania and Gail said it beautifully - thanks ladies! As someone who lives with a chronic disease I can assure you that I believe "attitude is half the battle". Being strong is hard at times but it sounds like you've got it down! Your attitude is wonderful and writing your words here will likely provide inspiration for others who see it!

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers! It means a lot to me.
Susan, I wish they could find a cure for your chronic disease as well. I believe cures for many of these terrible diseases are coming soon.
Ute, I would be honored to have my name in the BCA project at your church. It has been seven years out for your mom that is great!

Dawn you are in my prayers. I was gone on vacation and am behind on the message board. My best friend has been fighting throat cancer for almost two years. I know it was hard to put on the message board. I admire your strength. Deborah K.

When my DH had been in the hospital for nearly 4 months, I went into the office at the school where I worked, and found this "weekly thought" in the faculty newsletter:
"Life isn't fair. But life isn't fair for everyone; therefore, life is fair.
Sometimes I would like a different definition of "fair", however.
