I just read about the missing die in the tree trunk set thanks because I missed that. Heads up though the build the snowman set is also missing a die. It is to have 16 but I only got 15. I called LCC and they said that the arms for the small snowman is missing. They are aware of it and took my contact information so they could send me one out. It will a couple weeks they stated. I will be calling back tomorrow to ensure my tree trunk die too. Thanks Suzanne

correct. LC is aware of the problem and they will be shipping the dies directly to all customers who need them. Make sure you contact them if that is the case. Please let me know if you need any help getting to them.

Thanks for letting us know! It would probably never occur to me to lay out the dies and count them right away, so I'd be in the middle of a project before I even knew anything was missing.

they responded extremely quickly to my e-mail, took my contact info and are sending my missing die right to me when they get it. Great customer service, woo hoo! Vicki

I wonder what happened that the die is missing. If it just fell out or if they forgot to add it to all the packages Curious

I have the snowmen and the tree trunks coming, so I'm very thankful to the folks here who are keeping us all in the loop. While I would probably have noticed 1 of 3 dies missing (the tree trunk set), I doubt I'd have noticed 1 of 16 dies was missing until I went to make something that needed that particular die.
Makes me wonder how many sets I have that may be missing a die! Yikes!

good to know!! I don't always open my dies right away and count either. I will have to keep my eye out for these and double check

Well, poo. My order arrived and I'm missing both a die from the Tree Trunks set AND a die from the Snowman Kit. Off to count everything else. This is going to be quite a drag if every order from QK/LC has to be counted in so meticulously from now on. ETA The sweater package says there should be two dies, but there's only one. However, I can't imagine what the second/missing die would be since the 4x4 die has a sweater and three snowflakes, which is what the picture shows. The missing Tree Trunk die is the skinny one. The missing Snowman Kit die hasn't been identified yet. I need to lay everything out and see what's missing. ETA (again) Okay, it's the small set of stick arms -- the set for the small snowman. They're on one die, like the large set of stick arms for the larger snowman. Thanks to Susan for having the picture of the set on her blog. That made checking a simple job of comparing what I have to what she has. (BTW, Susan, you show only 2 of the Tree Trunks, so it looks like your TT set is missing a die, too.)

I think LC/QK did an amazing job notifying the retailers about the missing dies! We got the email on Tuesday morning - I just didn't get around to reading it until later in the day. Meg I don't think there is a need to be bummed "if every order from QK/LC has to be counted so meticulously from now on." This is just a mistake - it happens in the packaging process. They noticed it right away and let all of us know, and are shipping everyone the missing pieces at no expense to any customer. WOOT WOOT for LC/QK - A#1 service, once again! And the sweater die is indeed only a SINGLE die! My tree trunks were missing the skinny trunk - but my snowman was intact. It's happened before - what font way back when was missing all of the S dies? I can't remember - but it happened. Every single font set was missing the S - it was funny! I told QK i was going to spell all of my titles without Ses...we had fun with that glitch! no worries - QK will make it 100%

Oh, I know LC will make things right. I'm bummed about the situation, but I know I'll have the dies in my hands eventually.
I wonder why the sweater package says it's two dies. The 4x4 has all the cuts it should. Perhaps it was planned as two dies at some point.

WOOT WOOT for LC/QK - A#1 service, once again! QK used to send some of their packaging contracts to a local sheltered workshop nearby. I don't know if they still do, or not, but I do have to add my $.02 worth here... My daughter (developmentally disabled) works at a local sheltered workshop, and although the workshop has not had a contract with QK, the clients do several different assembly contracts, including the long-term contract with the National Park Service for their gift shop bags. The clients are closely supervised, but errors DO happen. They try to correct those mistakes before the merchandise leaves the shop, but I'm sure they (like many other non-disabled businesses) do occasionally have a glitch. Obviously, the LC/QK missing pieces are something I will check on when my shipments from Dani arrive, but this company has ALWAYS made it right, so I am not worried!

Diane, isn't that interesting. What a great program. I don't know what LC/QK does, but I appreciate them letting us know via our retailer.
I'm waiting until my snowmen set gets here to contact QK/LC. Since I know I'm missing a tree trunk, I'm thinking that if I'm missing the arms, I'll get them in one mailing.

Diane - what an interesting program, I didn't know those kind of programs were there, but what an awesome opportunity.

Great programs!!! Glad to hear LC customer service is as good a QK's was. Life is too short to get bent out of shape over a small mistake; especially when it's is being resolved. Cat

I don't see anyone getting bet out of shape. I think "bummed" was the strongest feeling expressed, which, IMO, is understandable. I think it's great that people posted here. If it wasn't for this board, I wouldn't have known to check the sets, as I don't normally count out every die in every package upon receiving an order. Please let's not discourage people from reporting about problems. Most of us do not have access to insider and/or direct-from-the-company information and we rely on our fellow crafters/posters to be kept in the loop.

Absolutely we should report any issues! Meg is right--the board is a great source.
Meg, the good news is that QK is really good about this. For example, if you lose the "M" in a font, even a retired font, QK will replace it for a small fee. They have some backstock for things like that. So, even if you don't discover a problem right away, QK/LC can still make it right.
It's smart to check your pieces. That's being a good consumer. But lets face it, we don't always get the chance. Life gets busy and we order dies because we know that they have the potential to go out of stock quickly.
I think the real point to take away from this thread is that the new company seems to be following the QK tradition of fabulous customer service. And that is WONDERFUL news!

I agree as smart consumers we should check our die pieces. (Sometimes I'm slow about getting around to counting/checking my dies because of work and such busy type things) I also agree we should share any issues we come across. SL message board is a great place to share information and tips. I have learned tons of information between the message board and Susan's Blog. Cat

I called Lifestyle Crafts this morning and they are going to ship my small snowman arms when they come in. In the mean time, I just shortened the big snowman arms and used them.

I emailed them yesterday afternoon when my dies came in. I wasn't surprised that I had missing parts, and I'm guessing most of us did. The response I received first thing this morning (gee...what time do these folks have to get to work? I turned on my computer at about 7:00 CA time) sounds exactly like Michelles, and I thnk they've wisely resorted to a form email, since so many of us must be contacting them. Hooray for LC for maintaining that terrific QK customer service that we've all gotten used to!

My dies arrived without the skinny tree trunk and my littlest snowman arms too. Will E-mail LC; I know they'll make it right. Thanks for the heads up here everyone - I wouldn't have paid attention otherwise. Who knows when I would have realized I was short a couple of dies?? Gail

Has there been any "new" news about these missing pieces? Dani? Susan? I'm not getting impatient...just curious! (It's a rainy day here, and I'm getting a bit of cabin fever, so I'm just entertaining myself by visiting the best place...the SL MB! )

I heard late last week that the dies had just arrived in the LC warehouse - so I'd assume they would begin shipping this week.

Just recived all my great new stuff from SL( thanks Dani), and twice today I had to contact LC . First I found out that the small trunk was missing, and I contacted LC They replied very quickly, now on my way to bed I went to check the rest of the dies and yes, no arms for the small snowman, new contact to LC. Susan it´s nice to hear that it might not take that long before two replacement dies is on it way across the ocean and nice to discover that it looks like LC has that good old QK service too. Ansa

Yippee!!!!!!! A skinny tree trunk and little bitty snowman arms were in my mail this afternoon! For those of you who are/were also waiting for these parts, be aware that the snowman-arms piece is very small...I almost missed it, although it's in the same clear wrap with the tree trunk. It's so nice that LC has the same terrific service as QK!
