Hi, chili! I love the new QK snowflake set, too. Gotta say, though, that the Spellbinders Snowflake Pendants (http://www.scrapyland.com/Spellbinders_Snowflake_Pendants_p/s4-286.htm) is also a winner! It's big, beautiful, intricate, and has pieces for layering. Course, I go crazy for snowflakes, and buy most of them that come out , but these two sets are my current faves. Stay warm! Gail

Well, it was just on the news that in our entire state in Germany (Schleswig-Holstein - the northern most state) public school is closed tomorrow - I cannot remember when that happened the last time. Not one public school will open its doors tomorrow - my children think it's GREAT ! It really is way too early for this kind of weather ... I do not like it ! Ute (and I absolutely LOVE the new snowflakes from whatever Quickutz is called now - I have used the a lot already)

Ute! Enjoy your snow day--they kids will be thrilled. We never have snow days here, either. (By January, every day would be a snow day!) It sounds like it's too cold to send them outside, but you could have a marathon session of board games, hot chocolate and then a good holiday movie.
And from one mom to another--my wish for you is that you will only have one snow day. Because they start to get stir crazy after a while when cabin fever sets in!

I hate to admit this; but our schools closed down with less than a foot of snow on the ground. Ice storms shut everything down. I really believe it's because we don't have the right equipment to clear the roads and highways in this part of the country. (and the truth be told most people in this part of the country don't know how to drive when we have those kind of road conditions.) ( my Dad took us out on the muddest field he could find and made us drive until we could work our selfs out of the mess....crazy but it helped us to learn what Not to do and what To do...worked for my kids too. So we all can drive in most road conditions) Ute, I hope you get to scrap some tomorrow or bake something yummy for Chritmas. Stay safe & warm!!! Cat

It's finally warmed up a bit here, but at this moment we have a pouring, straight-down, no-wind rain...or as DH would say, "It's 70 per cent-ing" (since there was a 70 per cent chance of rain today).
And I'm with Cat...folks around here in No. California don't have the first clue how to drive in snow, since this area gets snow about once, for a day, every 10 years. Since I grew up in Kansas, I learned to drive on icy roads, but most of the people around here don't realize that you can't just step on the brakes at the last minute, and expect to stop...these drivers scare me to death!

Yes; they think they can drive 70 and slam on the brakes even on over passes.... they scare me too. Cat

Well, one reason my children liked this day off so much - I had to go to work ! It seems, parents can go to work no matter what the weather is like ... Anyway, my work is really close by, I can walk there, so that is not a problem - but I would have liked to have the day off, too :-))) Anyway, the big problem is the melting and refreezing - that's what's so dangerous here. It's snowing now. Our first snow of the season. It's pretty, but I hope it doesn't stick around!

Michelle You can send it my way...for a day...starting AFTER I come home from taking my daughter to work, and melting BEFORE I go pick her up! I just want photos in my yard (and maybe the deer walking through)...am I asking too much?

The really stupid thing about is that the roof is NEW!! or rather newer- completely replaced in 2006. It only leaks around the A/C which was also replaced at the same time as the roof. We have had the roofer out- he says it is the A/C guys fault. Of course the A/C guy says its the roofers fault. So now Husband is going to give his skills a try Thankfully it is not dripping, only making ugly colors in the ceiling. I guess that is one pro about being in a drought Cindy
