Decorations are up, tree is half decorated, most of the shopping is done, no packages are wrapped, and I have about 50 more cards to make for the card sets that are gifts for about 30 team members and friends. I had shoulder surgery today so will be much slower working with only one arm! But I am Irish and I will get it all completed.

Jenn, I didn't have the Tupperware sugar cookie recipe in my stash, but I found a recipe on line. The site said it was the recipe that came with the first Tupperware cookie cutters. I haven't had a chance to try it, so I don't know how well it works.
Tupperware Sugar Cookie
Cream together 1/2 cup of softened butter 1 cup of sugar Blend in 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla (near the last of the 10 minutes)
Beat for 10 minutes until creamy and smooth.
Sift together in another bowl so dry ingredients are mixed 2 cups of all purpose flour 2 teaspoons of baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt
Slowly add the mixed dry ingredients to the butter/sugar mixture.
(Jenn, mix the mixture (after dry ingredients are added) until smooth but don't over beat or mix because it will make the cookies tough....my experience)
Divide dough in half and chill 1 to 2 hours. Pre-heat oven to 375 F degrees
When you are ready to bake (only remove 1/2 the dough and leave the other half to chill) your cookies sift 1/8 of a cup of all purpose flour on counter and roll out 1/2 of your dough to 1/8 of an inch thick and cut your cookies out. bake at 375 F for 8 to 10 minutes (cookies should be lightly browned on the edges when done) When you are ready to cook the second half of the dough sift another 1/8 of a cup of all purpose flour down before rolling the dough out. (the directions had a note on the bottom saying the extra sifted flour on the counter will mix in as you roll out your dough, sometimes with some left over)
Jenn, I hope this is your Dad's sugar cookie recipe.....And that it makes your Christmas brighter............(If this isn't it let me know and I'll hunt some more for it......I hate to have traditions lost. )
Ladies, I'm sorry I have missed of your posts.....it's been crazy busy at work.....but after 9 hours plus of constantly staring at a computer everyday my eyes are blurry (even hurt at times) when I get home. I just want to shut them until I have to start over the next day. I hope you are all well and enjoying the Christmas holidays with your loved ones.
Hugs and prayers for everyone to have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year, Cat

Thank You, Karen for moving the Tupperware Recipe to the Recipe Section of the Message Board.....I started to put it there to begin with, but was afraid Jenn might not think to go there since we started cookie discussion here. Cat

Hi Everyone, I will try again this weekend. You are so thoughtful. Thank you to all the other Diva's for your help. Diane and Michelle your receipe will be a wonderful replacement for my dad's cookies. You are both so thoughtful to go to the trouble of posting the directions, especially when uyou already have so much to do during the season. Cat, I can't believe you found the Tupperware recipe on line. I did not even think to look on line. All of your help has cheered me up. I was so sad that my dad was not around to help me. So thank you all again. Jenn

Good morning, everyone! Here in No. California, it's about 9:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve, and only 2/3 of my 3-member family are awake! The pie crust is chilling, the cinnamon rolls are rising, and everything else will just make a bit too much noise, so I'm waiting for DH to wake up! ;D We are having a traditional turkey dinner tonight (including Michelle's incredible sweet potato casserole), and then going to my MIL's tomorrow to take a chance (hee hee) on her ham dinner! May everyone have a wonderful Christmas...make lots of memories to put in your scrapbooks! Diane

We got into Minneapolis safe and sound Tuesday night. There was a lot of weather out there delaying flights. Yesterday, we saw the in-laws. It was a nice visit. MIL has early cognitive memory loss and was in good shape yesterday, which was nice. When she started repeating herself, we knew she was tired and it was time to go. But I just had to laugh at something that she said. DH is her baby and in her eyes, he can walk on water and staple Jello to the wall. And DH is terrible about doing stuff last minute. TERRIBLE! He gets busy with work and forgets that stuff takes longer than 5 minutes to accomplish. So we are winding down the visit and just chatting. All of a sudden, she looks over at me and says, "Is DH still a procrastinator?" I about fell out of my chair! Finally, validation after all these years! Because if I complained, she would always defend him and say that he has an important job, is busy, just be patient... But you would be proud of me. I just smiled and said, "Yep, but that's DH." I told hubby on the way home and even he laughed. And then we retold the story of the year we had the Charlie Brown Christmas tree because DH was too busy to shop for a tree, but he wanted to do it with us as a family. It's been 12 years and I could finally laugh about that one. Because, boy was I steamed that year! So, here is hoping that you are (pleasantly) surprised by at least one of your crazy family members this weekend! Michelle

Michelle, glad you arrived safe and sound! What a wonderful story about your MIL! Sounds like you handled it with grace and humor. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, and that the magic of the season transforms those in our lives with difficult personalities into pleasant people - at least for the day! God bless us, every one! Merry Christmas, ladies! Gail
