Just a little while ago I finished watching a live webcast of the kids performing at Bandfest held at Pasadena City College. They were just awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so good to watch them perform!!!! especially after all it took for them to get there.

Here are some pictures from in front of Grandma's house. As you can see, it's hard to know where to put the snow! She lives in an older area of Minneapolis, where the streets are narrower and the yard space is in the back of the house, not the front. And I should also note that my grandfather built this house shortly after WWII. It has a very cottage like feel inside--cosy with knotty pine paneling. I love it, especially the kitchen. The counters and cabinets are all lower than standard height because my grandmother was small. So it all fits me perfectly. But I always get stuck washing dishes, because everyone else claims that it hurts their backs to bend over the sink to wash! I forgot to mention--the pictures are horrible. I was shooting into the sun and then realized that I had the camera on the indoor setting. I was trying to get the picture fast--it was cold out there! Michelle

Great pictures, Michelle! Yikes, that amount of snow brings back bad memories of living in Syracuse. Hope things are all OK in MA. It's melting pretty quickly here now, and since tonight's low is finally above freezing, I have hope we'll see the ground by the end of the weekend! Gail

holy scrap! that's a lot of snow! Just to let you in on our AZ funny yesterday - Mesa, AZ got snow about 2pm! It lasted for 35 seconds!! Snow in AZ is not measured in inches, but in seconds! LOL It's been colder than cold here - I know - cry me a river huh?? But we got down to 25 last night. And ladies, for the whimps in this house that's COLD! We all had extra blankets, afghans, socks and sweatshirts when we went to bed. Our little heat pump just can't heat this whole house consistently when it 's that cold outside. The dogs were practically under my bed this morning! LOL - my son came out claiming he could see his breath in his room. He was exaggerating - but it was funny! Frost on the citrus fruit, ice crystals on the bbq grill cover - DANG! Everyone stay warm - and the best way to stay warm is to bundle up - put on some rocking tunes and lock yourself in your craft space!!!

Ok, I know I didn't have a lot of sympathy earlier this winter when the southern Divas/Dani were complaining about the cold. But yikes, it's gone on for a long time. It's one thing to get a few days of cold, but for it to be cold for this long... That's just crazy!
We did ok here. There is a lot more snow at our house than in Boston and I'm only 14 miles from downtown Boston. But it was warm here yesterday and it's 40 here today. The snow is melting fast! On the other hand, it's about 10 in Minneapolis today. It was pouring rain when we flew out yesterday. If it had been snow, we would still be there. But now all that rain has frozen and it's a mess out there.
So with all the crazy weather out there, everyone stay safe! Esp if you are in the south and using space heaters. They work, but they do scare me more than a little bit!
And by all that is holy, SAVE THE CITRUS!

Michelle...thanks for sharing some more of your snow pictures! I'd love a "smidge" of snow, but probably not as much as in that waist-high+ pile!

I agree!! It only snows here every 30 years or so. Which is good for us because we cannot survive in snow It snowed in 1998 or 1999 when Son was 4 or 5. Only about 2 inches at the most. Some family memeber called me about 5am to let me know (not a morning person ). I had to wake Son up because I was not sure how long it would last. He thought I personally ordered it for him and said- "Mom You are soo fun!!!" Of course Schools were cancelled and stores were closed. Cindy
