Another "Recipe Swap" where do I sign up? Gail, sign me up because I have loved doing this. Never thought I would love anything as much as making cards, but this has been so much fun. Just talked to Christy (Peterpan) she said to sign her up too! Gail your already have willing divas ready to scrap their hearts out for another recipe swap. Miss Michelle D (V) is off at Disney World having a blast, but I think she had already planned on signing up for another recipe swap. Holiday Recipe Swap Cat

Yup! Christmas print papers, embellies, all that good stuff!! I'm thrilled that you all enjoyed this one so much that you want to do it again! I guess I better get the sign-up going!! I'll post it this weekend. What do you think would be a reasonable deadline?? We'll want to have the books in time to use them for this year, but I want to give everyone enough time to work. Also, it would be good to be finished before the worst of the Holiday crunch starts... I was thinking mid- or late October. What do you think? Gail

I would suggest a time no later than the end of October...after Halloween, life gets a little crazy for most of us!

Suzanne, your neat pages have arrived! I love the way you laminated your recipes, and made them so they could be removed from the pages - great idea!!! Recipes sound delish, too, can't wait to give them a try. Thanks for being part of the swap!! Gail

Gail, I would suggest the 10-15th of October. That gives time for delayed pages and mailing done before the end of the month (and one of you favorite holidays). Life gets crazy for everyone after Halloween.

Just talked to mom(Cat). She's in Southern Colorado with dad and sister(Peterpan), camping out, relaxing, and working on her recipe pages. I gave her the update from the message boards here and let her know she's on the list for the holiday cookbook. And that me and Peterpan are on there, too. :-) :-)

Katie - love your pages - so bright and colorful! Oh, and the recipes - the dinner I'm going to make this weekend, and I'll probably make the other recipe to go with it! Both sound easy, too - a big plus!! Gail

I'm cooking up the same dinner tomorrow night for my parents' visit. Easy-peasy: that's how I cook 'em, and I'm going to add mexi-corn to the mix too for a little more veggie goodness.
BTW, USPS is fast. 3 days to ship across the country!

Katie, I have another recipe for this dish, but it's SO much more complicated, I rarely make it, though I love it!! This one has the same basic elements and flavors, but looks like a snap to make. Thanks for sharing it!! Gail

I learned to pack when I was in college--from home to the dorms in August, dorms to home at Christmas, back to the dorms in January, back home in May, then off to my summer internship and back home again in August before starting the whole cycle again. It took some creative packing to get all my worldly possessions in my VW Golf back then. Of course, now with the extent of my scrapping habit (err, maybe more appropriately scrap collecting habit), I'm not sure I could even fit it all in my Explorer! Eek!! I have retained my packing skills though with trips home from Katy. It's a rare occasion when I fly home without some scrapy supply for mom or sister--or have to leave room to carry something back to Katy with me. c

y'all realize that you're waiting on me - right?!?!?!? oh my goodness - I'm so sorry! I had big plans of hitting town and having my mom help me work on the pages, but I barely have had enough time to breathe this last week!!! SO SORRY! My recipes are typed, and all ready to print - and as soon as I get home Wednesday I will power-scrap the pages. I know exactly what I"m going to do - and trust me, it's going to be rather simple...but I hate that it's me who is holding up the cook book right now. SO please hang in there...I've already thought about doing them digitally, but didn't think that'd be fair. SO paper and dies here I come!!!!

Susan, it's OK!!! Take a deep breath! There, isn't that better?? I for one am willing to wait til the cows come home for your pages. I know you've had more important stuff to do lately! Focus on a safe trip home, get the pages done when you can, and ENJOY it - remember (to quote you) this shouldn't be stressful or work! But just so you know, my cows are coming home on the 30th!!

Susan, I promise I don't mind waiting. Fact is I was stressing over my pages a little over a week ago, when a young man said to me. " While we are making all kinds of plans and schedules, Life Happens. It doesn't always fit our plans and schedules.....we just have to learn to live with it. Its much easier that way. Accepting that some things are out of our control and can't be helped....Live with it, your blood pressure will thank you." So I'm trying to remember that "Life Happens, I need to live with it." He made me stop and think........thought I would pass his words on. Cat

Susan, I don't believe any of us are in a terrible rush to have the cookbooks in our mailboxes! We've all enjoyed hearing about your travels and DD's successes as she (and your family) start this new phase of growing up! Just travel home safely!
