So far I have only one recipe in mind. After this weekend I will focus on it more. Sisters baby shower has me all tied up!! Oh and then there is Halloween!! Daughter wants me to make a costume for her so I may only send 1 recipe this time. We will see...

What costume are you making for Halloween? Because of the flood, I told DD that I can't make her costume this year. All the sewing stuff is still in boxes and buried under heaps of stuff from the basement. The had some neat fake eyelashes and wigs at Target and I told her she should go as Lady Gaga. I thought I could make a meat dress without any sewing and Big Dog would follow her around all night!

oooo... you could use some glittery/chiffon/sequin fancy fabrics. Maybe some of those fake eyelashes. DD was definitely intrigued with them, but I'm not sure the execution would take place.
That's a fun costume! And Target had a little stuffed Toto in a basket in the costume section. You need that!

Well, Diane and I have been cooking up our plans for the covers, Divas! Hope things are moving along for your pages. I'm finding the previous book very inspiring!  My recipes are chosen!! Hope you're all having fun with your pages!! I've chosen my recipes, and have one of the pages designed, and a design for the cover.... For me, that's pretty good, since I tend to be quite the procrastinator!! ;D Will work on them this weekend while DH is bicycling in NC. I've got scrapping in a hotel room down to an art form! Ahhhhh.....lets see I need to print out 1 recipe, make 3 or 4 die cuts, some inking, add a little bling and put everything altogether X 12.......doesn't sound like much until you put the (times) X 12 does it. I say I'm further along at this point than I was last time. Cat |

Well, I'm almost done. But I'm afraid I'll be a few days late. I have an art history paper to finish writing, so I need to stop work on the pages this weekend to do that.
I think I just need to cut out 2 more snowflakes and one more word and then print some journaling. Then I can finish assembling.
The most time-consuming part has been cutting snowflakes out of vellum on the Silhouette. I did great for a while, then suddenly started having problems with tearing. I think I'm back on track now and nearly done!
I can't wait to see what everyone's doing. I'm super-excited about my sister's (peterpan's) page.

No worries, Michelle!! a little late is fine with me. So far, I have Diane's pages, and that's it... Seems like we're all running a bit late this time!! Mine are almost done, but I still have the cover design to do! (Wonderful Diane made the covers for me - what a sweetheart!!). Gail, I'm guilty too. Even after our great process this last weekend I didn't get mine finished up during the week......I'll finish this weekend and drop them in the mail Monday....(I hope)... I really don't like that much. It's just one of those weeks at work: one lady is out with the pink-eye ( along with her new born), one lady is out because her mother fell and broke her hip..she is dealing with all the medical stuff that goes with it, one lady is out because her father had to have emergency surgery, another's father-law who has been hospitalized for 3 weeks took a turn for the worse and passed away Tuesday, 3 others left on Wednesday to go to training in Nashville, one of ladies left at work is pregnant and a diabetic/ early 40s......to top it off Wednesday morning the nurse came to give us flu shots......and some of us left at work have huge red-sore spots on our arms and running fever. Yes yours truly is one of the feverish ones ......here's hoping this means we won't have the flu or least a easy case..... one lady left work is newly divorced and dealing with two very young boys, and the last lady left at work is in the process of packing her house up to move to Dallas where her husband is now since being transferred. Gail, believe me I've had a ball working on my pages. Between making cards for Michelle and working on my recipe pages I've scrapped nearly every night after work. (until this week) It's so relaxing to cut, glue, ink and try make something that will make someone else smile. Cat |

Okay, I'm done. :-) Will try to get it in the mail tomorrow. That's if we're not blown off the map by then. I've lived in West Texas all my life and only once before have I seen it get THAT dark from a sandstorm. And that's the reddest the air has ever been, too. I think it's settling down, though.

WHEW!! Done, packed and posted. Ten days or so late, but it looks like I'm in good company (as always here).  I missed the last pickup today but they should still arrive by the weekend. Now, I have to get busy on my Fall Frenzy projects...or at least that's the current working theory. We'll see if I get home early enough tomorrow to make the ideas swirling in my head a reality. For now, it's early to bed so I can get to work early in the morning. Hang in there ladies. Gail is so right...the point is to have fun and relieve a little stress. |
