okay ladies - I'm totally brain dead...I need some serious creative help!!
Hubs and I are going to Nebraska for homecoming 3-day weekend in early October. Haven't been home as a foursome for a football game ever - and it will be more fun since dear daughter is there now.
Soooo - my folks want to have a big Friday night party. Some of our {hubby and mine} friends, some of their friends, some neighbohors, etc. A rather mixed crowd - but not too mixed 44ish to 69ish is age range.
I want a totally fun invitation - it's a big football game for us UNL vs Ohio State and it's homecoming weekend.
I need to make a bunch - so simple is kind of key, I"m thinking Silhouette for a football shape on some red and black paper {school colors} but what I"m stuck on is a catchy title.
I always try to give my parties a cute theme or a name...we do a lot of Flamingo Fridays around my neighborhood, and 'Tini Tuesdays ...so I always tend to start brainstorming with same letters...
so we have:
food
football
friends
on the right track - but totally boring
my hubby said:
vittles &
vino, on to
victory
since we won't be watching the game - it's the Friday night before the same - I think maybe it's overkill to say football
my son said:
homies &
homecoming
LOL - he's 16!
any suggestions? can you feel my idea? what words am I missing? we don't really have a theme for food - just good, October weather munchies - heavy appetizers, etc.
drinks will be mainly wine {we're a wine crowd - okay maybe some martinis}
but we want everyone to come dressed in Husker Red.
my brain hurts...
our hospital had a big fundraiser last spring called "Pinot & Pig" and it was awesome. BBQ ribs, pulled pork and wine" So you can see where I sort of got my theme/title...
