I am going to need the Mr and Mrs Claus too. Debating on the sleigh/deer. I have last years reindeer. Can the candy cane from last year (4x4 tag candycane) still be ordered here on SL?

I "researched" the candy cane die and remember it now!
I was told if I wanted the sleigh and reindeer die, I needed to buy it online as an email was sent out to the retailers that it was sold out as well as the Santa silhouette

I just couldn't order any this time around BUT I love seeing what everyone is doing with this release!! Now that you all are getting your shipments, I expect to see lots more ideas!! Nikki, I understand completely I've been there many times myself. In fact I've been really carefully about buying only what I know I will use. I had even left the nutcracker out of my basket until the very last minute; but I could see other uses for some of his parts......sounds weird put that way. I'm a mix & match type person.....even when I sewed for my girls all the time, I might use the sleeves-neckline-shirt-bodice from several different patterns.....or even design something of my own and pitch it in..,anyway you get the picture.....So I try to pick most of my dies with more than one shape or design in mind. If you decide you need some cuts from this release just PM me; I'll be glad to cut some and send them your way. Cat

Cat, I do that when I sew, too! My wedding dress was a sleeve from one pattern, bodice from another, train from another... I just sort of cobbled it all together. I know how to draft a pattern, but it's still easier to use the pre-made patterns!
I knew this release would go fast and wouldn't wait for me to figure out what I need. Plus, I always do a lot of gifts and crafts for the holidays, so I know I'll use it all!

She would see something (Dress, blouse, pants, men's shirts, curtains even drapes) in a store she liked then go home pull out the brown paper and scissors and make her own patterns; it's something else she taught me to do. ( I don't think the way we did was really drafting a pattern though....Dad called it eye-balling it. She made him western shirts when he was a young man. ) Even funnier she was a quilter like you. She was great at re-covering furniture too. It's weird so many of us have so much in common. Cat

Every week it seems I have more and more in common with you too, Michelle!! I also made my own wedding dress from 2 different patterns!! I do not know how to make my own patterns but I do know how to blend 2 together (for the most part). Cindy

Cat, I would have love to have met your Granny! I would love to know how to recover furniture. I think about trying every now and then, but then I chicken out! Cindy, I know!!!! And our DDs as well--maybe we are twins? We need to start a quilting section here, too. I have a double wedding ring quilt that is half pieced--I'd like to finish that!
I fully intended on buying my wedding dress. But I was still in college and when I started trying on dresses in my budget, I was blown away by how cheap looking they were. And a but slutty--very low cut--that was not my style! When I was in college, I worked for a tailor and a theatre in the costume shop, so I had a lot of experience making gowns. I did everything--veil, crinoline, and all--for $300. And 21 years later, I still think it was pretty!
I haven't done much lately. All my sewing stuff is still packed away in boxes. They start hanging drywall down there tomorrow and tell me it will be done by Friday. I don't quite believe it will be done that quickly, but maybe by next weekend I can have my basement back?

Oh, wow! I was stumped, too. It's amazing how you can turn a scrap into something that looks JUST like an ornament. Very cool, mom.

While making cards for Basketlady Michelle's cards for soldiers that center scrap piece kept calling to me to make a card with it. This was the result. Hubby really liked how it turned out and wanted me to post it on the MB. When I posted the card he asked me if I had told y'all what the ornament was made from. I said with complete confidence "no Susan will recognized it" That's the reason I had to laugh Susan......I was so sure you had seen the ornament too! I see a pine cone too. Maybe my creativity has been bottled up way too long!!! Either that or there's something in the water Cat
