Is it just the handle. It look like one has a handle and the other a knob. It that the only difference? I have the X and the 900 but the 900 is too big and X is too small. I need a more useful one.

Dania, I'm not sure of the difference. They look to be the same. I'm going out tomorrow and will try to see if one of the big stores here carries both.
I'm pretty sure that I have the 510. It's still in some boxes that aren't unpacked yet because of the basement flooding. But I do love it. The width is great and I like how easy it is to change out the adhesive cartridges. I guess my biggest recommendation would be to find out where you would purchase replacement cartridges and if they carry your particular model's adhesive. I always have a back up, but if I'm working on a big project, it goes fast.

Dania,
If I remember correctly from when I sold them, the 500 is just a sticker maker. It puts repositionable or permanent adhesive on one side, and that's all she wrote. The 510 did the newer features, such as put adhesive on both sides, laminate a side, or laminate one side and put adhesive on the other, as well as adhere a magnet. It had the various cartridges for those features. Hope this is helpful!

I'm not sure if that is the difference, but I do have a repositionable adhesive cartridge, a permanent adhesive, a laminate sticker, a straight laminate and a magnet cartridge. Lots of options and Mike's sells the refills--great use of a coupon.

Okay just did a quick search, and it does appear that the 500 is the Create-a-Sticker model (just adhesive) and the 510 is the Creation Station, where it can use the other cartridges. And a sidenote, those two models cannot use each other's cartridges so make sure to buy the exact type that says 500 or 510 depending on which machine you get!

and you girls all know that the numbers of the Xyron products refer to the width of the opening. Right? the Xyron 5?? is 5" wide the Xyron 7?? is 7" wide the Xyron 9?? is 9" wide etc. the final two numbers in the 5?? are sometimes changed to reflect new colors, new styles, slightly different features, but the first number is the width of what you can put in to adhere, laminate, etc.

You just had to put your 0.02 in didn't you, Susan? Yep, the first number is the width. Except in the case of my 1200... It's 12" not 1" wide. lol

Dania, the 510 is the one you want - it accepts all the different cartridges, and has a handle, not the little knob. I use mine ALL the time to put adhesive on 4" wide strips of cardstock, then I use them to cut my alphas, so I don't have to dot glue all over the tiny little letters!! Gail

Yes I did know about the first number. I just couldn't figure out want the last two numbers were. The price was different and I just couldn't believe it was because of the handle. Thanks Gail. I will be getting the 510.
