Does anyone need a replacement blade for the silhouette sd? I have an extra one and no use for it since I have the Cameo now. I'll take $6 including shipping. PM me if interested. Thanks!

Really? I was told that the blades were the same, it was just the housing that was changed and that they would work in the Cameo. Ugh! oh well I am just excited to get the Cameo.

Thanks Susan I am glad I am not the only one who thought that. At any rate my machine should be here this week and I am excited.

Okay, on the silhouette website it says the cameo is not compatible with the old design blade.

my mistake - it's that the new Cameo blades are reverse compatible with the older machines...I knew there was compatibility, I just assumed it was old with new. LOL - it's new with old.

Thanks Susan; Guess I have a few blades that go with the old Silhouette when I go to sell it or give it to my granddaughter. I am just excited to get a 12 inch border now with out jerry rigging.

Update on blade issue! I believe Susan and I were right about the old blades being able to be used in the Cameo. When you are ready to cut a design on the cameo there is a button towards the middle of the page that reads "Silhouette Cut Settings" (that is the screen where you change your paper etc. in the middle of that page there is blue underline area that reads "change blade type". If you click on that it gives you an option to use the cap holder style cutting pen. I have not tried it yet, but it does look like it should work if you change your blade type settings. I also found that same information under FAQ on the Cameo site.

I haven't bought the new one, but I like your idea Mary, for when I finally cave into the lure of the Cameo. DD is now 12 and into all of my stuff. **ALL** of it. I found her tweezing her eyebrows last week. And then she left the tweezers and mirror all sitting out on the counter. She currently has some project scattered all over my studio. And my nail file is missing from in there. And I see Bananagrams and another craft project on the floor in the living room. Surprisingly, nothing in the family room. I guess she was too busy in the other parts of the house today!
I need this child in school tomorrow just so I can clean up after her.
