Recieved this from our company personnel this am and thought I would pass along in case anyone is interested.
If sending Christmas cards this year, would you take one card and send it to this address?
If everyone sends just one card, think of how many cards these wonderful, special people, who have sacrificed so much, would receive and appreciate your thoughts.
******************* UPDATE********************* Sorry for the change. But please note they are now requesting cards be sent to the following address by Dec 9th
Holiday Mail For Heroes P.O. Box 5456 Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456
All cards must be postmarked no later than Friday, December 9th. Cards postmarked after this date will unfortunately be returned to the sender. This deadline ensures enough time to sort and distribute cards before the holidays.

It didn't say but I would say yes if you wanted to, kind of makes it more personalized.

I read about this being untrue somewhere else and researched it a bit and from what I have found you can not send cards to "a recovering soldier" at Walter Reed. According to what I read since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks the post office will not deliver generic addressed mail nor will Walter Reed accept such mail unless it is addressed to a specific individual; for the safety of the soldiers. The American Red Cross has a program for holiday cards for wounded and recovering military personnel at Walter Reed and other facilities called Holiday Mail for Heroes.

I didn't see the first address, but it could be that it was an individual collecting the cards. I seem to remember when we were living here before, there was a collection. If there is a sanctioned person collecting the cards, it's probably ok. Just like Operation Write Home. There are four collection points in the US for OWH and those ladies send the cards overseas.
Leslie, if you want to know, PM me the original info. I should be able to find out fairly easily if the other organization is legit.
