What are you up to on this last weekend before the holiday??? I'm finishing up some last minute gift card holders (literally last minute!!) and taking my daughter to basketball camp this afternoon. I will then shop (yea!!) while she's playing basketball and hopefully finish the gift card holders this evening. Then tomorrow, it's Christmas with my side of the family!! Today is Christmas with Sister in law. Work next week (only 2 days). Everything else is done  Christmas Eve at Moms and Christmas Day at home.  Maybe I will make some more cookies, and do some scrapping, or maybe some more shopping to accessorize the Christmas outfit. I will definately be watching some Christmas movies!! Its all good!! I've been baking all day. ALL day! And I'm pooped. DH and DS spent the day building a ramp off the deck for Big Dog so that she doesn't have to use the stairs. And the kids finished the gingerbread house. We are just sitting down to watch Elf and relax. It's been a productive day! Pam, take a pic of your gift card holders. My MIL sent checks for the kids and I want to present them in a special way. I have a few ideas, but I'd love to see what you did. Cindy, stop bragging!  |

We just got back from MIL's, and are now "in recovery". ;D It's a good thing we went, though, because her freezer door was slightly open (probably since this morning...not days and days), and mostly everything was thawing. She was not pleased when we started tossing thawed meats, etc. into a garbage bag to throw out. DH was practically yelling at her, trying to get her to understand that she could be in a huge amount of difficulty if she ate any of it.
I'm spending the rest of the day getting the ornaments from the box to the tree! Now...where are those stockings?

Cherry pound cake
My Mom's Shortbread cookie recipe
I made a tray for my physical therapy folks of a taste of all the goodies and some Lindor truffles

Sounds like we're all working on those 'last minute' things to make our holidays perfect!! All of those cookies sound great!! And I still need to get started...or finished, really...on my baking! I'm rushing this week, for sure!!

Missed this thread earlier, but finished and mailed Christmas Cards, and put together an album as a Christmas gift for my favorite aunt. No baking for me - trying to keep the pounds off, but Keith made sweet potato biscuits - they're heavenly, and there goes the diet!!  Gail |
