Say mid to end of April, where would you go that would not necessarily require a passport?
Basically I am trying to plan a trip to go somewhere nothing to long maybe 3-5 nights at most depending on where I end up. I have a passport but it just expired so need to renew and I am doubtful I would get it back by end of April.
So let me know where you would go...and it would just be your dh or s/o and you..no kids because I know how kids can completely alter your destinations. ;D

we are trying to decide that now too but mid March. We've gone from Seattle to San Francisco to Bahamas and now hubby threw out Phoenix. So I am going to be no help whatsoever, lol. Have fun whatever you decide. Vicki

We (myself, DH, 2 girlfriends from grade school and their husbands) take our 5th wheel campers and go away for Easter week / all of our kids are out of the house but one of the girlfriends is a school teacher so we work around her schedule
This will be our 4th year - the past years we have traveled to Myrtle Beach - Wash DC - Atlanta, Stone Mountian
We look at a map a see where the driving semi circle takes us - we are in Michigan and would like it to be a little warmer - we drive about 4 hrs the first day after work then drive up to 8 hrs the next day
This year I think we are headed for St Louis

I would say that you definitely will have your passport back in 3 months. Renewals are faster--we got ours back in about a month when we renewed two years ago.
We did a long weekend in New Orleans a few years ago. Loved the trip--we did the NOLA touristy stuff, toured some battlefields, a plantation, went hiking in the bayou--it was FUN! All four of us found stuff to do and had a really nice time.
Savannah is somewhere I would love to go. We are thinking about it for spring break here. Boston would be pretty good by the end of April--snow would be gone and the temps are pretty mild (usually!) But if you want to do Nantucket or the Vineyard, I would wait for summer, even though it's pricier.

Hopefully you can decide soon.

I'm wanting tropical, we were looking at taking the ferry from Ft. Lauderdale to Freeport and that is what I thought we were doing and then hubby said he wanted to go to Phoenix. That sounds good too but once I get my mind on tropical, that's where I want to go, lol. We'll see. We went to Las Vegas last January and loved it. A lot of fun so that would be a great choice. Hubby said I'd love San Diego (he's gone there many times when he was active duty) so I think that would be nice too but I honed in on Figi, wow, if that was an option, I'd be running for that one, lol. Maui would be awesome too. Wow, a lot of great options for you all too. And yes, Savannah in the spring when the azaleas are blooming, absolutely awesome! We did that 2 years ago, had a great time.

oh Leslie I am just sure youd' have your passport back before April! I renewed mine and it was back in about 11 days - I almost paid for expedited processing and the gal at the office told me under her breath "don't waste your money"...I'm so glad she did! don't let passport renewal hold you back in your decision - dream big girl!

Ok I am going to be inspired and get that renewal sent off over the weekend...I just imagined with layoffs abroad and budget cut backs that this might take much longer than expected. In other words I wasn't holding my breath. ;D

Thanks for all your replies ladies. So am seriously considering the Savannah, Ga trip..can anyone recommend an area to stay at. I am thinking maybe just do a 4 day 3 night getaway unless I find too much stuff to do.. might extend that by a few more. Anyway any help you can offer me would be great.
