I am looking for a cornbread recipe that is really delicious.
I like the ones that I have tasted in the supermarkets in the U.S.

I do not live in the U.S. I live in Barbados so I need a recipe to make it from scratch. I like the ones that taste "cakish".

sorry I can't help - I have only ever made cornbread from a mix! Have you tried just googling a recipe? Anything from Paula Dean or Martha Stewart would be good...

Baje, my husband has a delicious recipe that I will get from him and post here. One of the big cornbread issues down here in the South is whether it should be sweet or not. We like ours a little bit sweet to bring out the corn flavor, but not overwhelmingly so. I should get back to you by tomorrow!! Gail

Here's the recipe at last! Sorry for the delay. Keith's Corn Bread 1 cup cornmeal 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 4 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/3 cups milk 1 egg, well-beaten 2 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted Mix dry ingredients together. Add wet ingredients, and stir just enough to blend. Pour into a greased 8x8 inch pan. Bake at 425 F for about 20 minutes. Enjoy!!! You can vary this by adding other seasonings, but we love it just as it is. Goes great with soup for a winter meal. Gail
