Ladies I feel so bad, I was watching my grandson while his mom (my dd) was giving birth to my third grandbaby and we went to see her afterwards in the hospital..lugged my big ol Nikon in there, took one picture and basically after some cooing and awing..alot of rocking and baby holding I left..yeah I only took one photo but as I was holding my other grandson (18 months) the little stinker reached over turned on my camera and did a burst of photos..no biggie..let me just delete them as I am in the elevator..oh crap I didn't just delete that photo of Marshall did I? Yep..ugh!..bad grammy..ever have a moment like that?
So no hospital picts unless my dd took some. I will get more photo ops in a few days but I always like to have at least one from the hospital. Ugh!

Leslie, if you're a "bad g'ma", then I"m guessing that you've just joined a fairly large club! I have erased irretrievable pictures on more than one occasion, even when I thought I was being careful. DH doesn't come near my camera, because he doesn't want to be held responsible for "extra" erasures! I have a friend whose husband was editing pictures from their trip to Italy (3 weeks worth), and accidentally erased every last picture...he's lucky to be alive! I hope you get lots more pictures!

granted pictures are priceless - but sometimes I have to agree that living in the moment is even better. I have girlfriends who NEVER come out from behind their camera. Literally - they never enjoy any party, never really "see" their children's school performances, and the last trip we went on she didn't enjoy any of the scenery because she was taking pictures. LIVE and enjoy! You did just that. You're not bad, you're extra good because you were taking it all in. Get a make-up picture as soon as baby #3 is home, and then write about deleting the one hospital picture in the elevator! LOL

Oh, NO, Leslie!!! Every photog's worst nightmare, quadrupled for a gramma!!! Even though you KNOW that those little ones look just the same on day two, and day three, and day four! ....can you go back again? If not, this will give you an excuse to make up for the 'whoops' by taking twice as many photos when you see him at home. And there is ALWAYS the official hospital photo---unfortunately not always very good, but there is one! The important think is that you got there! My mom didn't get to see my girls until they were a couple of weeks old! I can't imagine how that must feel! Congrats on your second grandson.......we need photos --- LOL!!!

I thought you were going to say that you left the big brother at the hospital LOL so in comparison YOU ROCK as a grandma I am only teasing!! I have gone on vacations where I forgot to take pics of one of my kids or the other. Thankfully we always go to the same places so I can fill in where I have gaps with previous trips Cindy

What Susan said, Leslie!! It's wonderful that you got caught up in the moment and LIVED it! Plus, what a great story you have for a page, how the older grandbaby is already a photographer!! You're NOT a bad grandma, you're human! Gail
