someone asked me ages ago about these mats...and today I asked during the webinar about the availability and the pricing. Here is what I know right now... IN STOCK very soon are the A and B mats for the Genius Platform. Plate A is MSRP $14.99 and Plate B is MSRP $9.99 - in order to cut steel ruled Sizzix dies with the Evolution you will need two B mats. One comes with the machine, the other would be an add-on purchase. Epic 6 Flex mats are NOT going away! WOO HOOO - they are regular line, they will be here for the foreseeable future. They have been out of stock for quite some time, but they are en route from their manufacturer!!! Letterpress - the Letterpress plates/trays work just fine in the Evolution, just like they would in the Epic 6. Lifestyle Crafts has tested the Genius platform in ALL machines on the market, and they stand by the fact that this magnetic platform works well with ALL competitor's machines. LC wanted to reassure us that they do extensive testing and demoing and cutting, and they perfected things until the platform worked perfect with all machines! Any questions - let me know! That's what we learned today!

Will the Genius platform be available with the Evolution? or is it only sold separately? Thanks Cindy

the genius is sold separately... they did that because their research showed them that many people had machines that they are totally satisfied with {Big Shot, Vabagond, Epic, Grand Calibur, etc.}, but the magnetic platform offers a new feature that is usable in any of the machines. Some people are brand new to die-cutting and need a machine, but to include the Genius platform WITH the Evolution would have made the price high enough that it might have been a deterrent to a new scrapbooker. When it was explained to me - it made sense.

LOL...I was just going to write what Cindy wrote!!! Can't wait for my pre-ordered Genius platform to arrive, and from what you say, Susan, it won't be long now. I am hoping that it will save me from having to nail my dies to my paper so I can run them through a few times without them shifting, which never seems to happen to other people on youtube videos but ALWAYS happens to me~~~ There is often one little part that needs a few extra passes. If the Genius solves the slippage problem, I will be in 7th heaven!!!

My Genius platform came last week, and I do love it. While the magnet isn't as strong as I though it would be, it does hold.....and it so far is cutting every single die without any shims. I do need another B mat for certain cuts.....wrote to Dani and he said he has gotten extra mats in but hasn't posted them yet. This platform slides right through my Big Shot, and the one thing I have noticed is that so far, no warping like with the plastic mats! I like that. The dies do seem to cut into it deeply......wondering already if they will hold up over time. But so far, so good...I am happy!
