Hi! I've been around here for awhile, although I haven't posted in a VERY long time...and now I need some advice!
I have only QK/LC dies I only use the Revolution. I also have a Silhouette that I seldom use. Now...I get to return and expensive gift from my husband (an ipad...which since I have an eeepad, I really don't need). I'm leaning away from the Cameo, since I seldom use my Sil. I really prefer the look of my QK dies, and have a ton of $$ invested in them. But it's time to upgrade.
Do I want a Vagabond, or the new Evolution machine??? Any other suggestions???
And MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Chattie Kathy

...Do I want a Vagabond, or the new Evolution machine??? Any other suggestions??? ... Chattie Kathy I have both, and really can't say that I prefer one over the other...they're both great machines! That said...the Vagabond requires electricity, but it's great if you have a ton of die-cutting to do, and you don't want to crank your arm off! ;D The Evolution works equally as well as the Vagabond, and while I wouldn't describe it as light-weight, it does weigh somewhat less than the Vagabond. If you're going to need to move the machine from place to place, the Evolution would probably be easier. (That's not to say that I haven't carried the Vagabond from spot to spot). I don't ever take a die-cutting machine with me to a crop, since I don't want to share it and also don't want to appear selfish. This way, if either machine (or even my Revolution, which I still love, but larger dies won't fit in it) gets damaged, I will only have myself to blame. Would you possibly have an opportunity to try out both machines at a store before you decide? I'm sure that whichever machine you eventually purchase will make you quite happy!

I have, and use, the Vagabond, the Big shot, and my newest toy {thanks Dani!} an Evolutuion. I have only tested out the Evolution, I haven't really put it through it's paces yet, but it's a nice machine and I love the teal color!! Other than that - the Vagabond is my go-to machine as it's always sitting here plugged in. I love the push-button power, and the power with with it cuts any die I can possibly grab. The Big Shot is the machine we will take with us to CHA because it's a workhorse {made by the same company that makes the Vagabond}. But with it being manual, no electricity is required so we can take it anywhere we want to go. If your machine sits stationary on your work surface, I'd so go VAGABOND. If you go to other places, or go to crops, or share your dies/machines...I'd say go BIG SHOT or EVOLUTION. The only real difference between the Big Shot and the Evolution, I'd say is the platform system. The Big Shot has ONE multipurpose platform, but you can vary the pages you use to adjust the thickness. The Evolutuion has one platform, and two different cutting pads. You vary the thickness of the platform is varied by the pages in the Big Shot, but varied by the cutting pads in the Evolution. No real pro or con there, but something to keep in mind. hope that explains the machines a bit...it sounds like you're a big Lifestyle Crafts/QuicKutz fan, and you can't go wrong with the new Evolution. And with the availability of the new Genius platform that is magnetic, you'll be comfortable as it's much like the Revolution. happy choices - you can't really go wrong with any of the three machines listed above. Dani has great prices here at Scrapy Land and shipping of in stock items is super fast! Plus you get great rewards with the Scrapy Point program!!!! HOORAY!

Thanks for the suggestions. I decided on the Vagabond! My husband took me out, and we picked it up at a great sale price! It really does make cutting my QK dies faster and easier! I only wish I could stay home today and play...but I have a party to go to this afternoon.
Thanks again for the help! Chattie Kathy

I never had any tape on my packages! That's a pity. I think it's because of sending my packages to the Netherlands. I try to keep my buyings low, no paper, so it will fit in an envelop (shipping 16 dollar, for bigger packages shippingcost are much more) I was very glad with the no-shippingcosts promo Dani had last weeks! There are 3 packages coming to me.

There are 3 packages coming to me. Anke I think the tape is mainly used on big boxes, or boxes that get repacked. It's cute clear packing tape that has the green lettering/logo Scrapy Land on it. Maybe the next time you place an order, that you know is going to fit in an envelope, put a little note in the COMMENT section for Dani "I'd love to see the famous Scrapy Land tape " and he could stick a little piece on the outside!! Unless it effects customs for some reason??? That would be bad I guess.... I'll snap a picture of the next box I receive so you can see it Anke!
