I am wondering if any of you know or have someone that works in the banking industry. I am trying to find out if an American Business is able to open bank accounts in Europe. The idea here will be to set up a way where you can pay in Euros or do the free money transfers etc.
Would it make a difference for you if you where able to pay in Euros or Pounds or it is not that important?
Any input would be great.
Dani

i don't know much about banking i'm afraid but it doesn't make much difference to me, i'm happy to stick my CC details in although i'd quite like to be able to pay via paypal, at least you can see straight away exactly how much the conversion rate is rather than waiting for the CC statement to come through.

We have millions of foreign companies that Register in the uk.. as limited companies.. so that they can open bank accounts... you would need a business premises in the uk.. or at least a valid address that could be used as our Registered office You would have to send in accounts and a annual return to but I bet you do that anyway.
Euro's arnt a problem

Sorry, I have no idea!
I don't mind paying with my CC. I get points on it and it is pretty safe (touch wood, I've not had any problems yet).....

I'm no banking specialist by far, but living "on the border" I know it's possible for Germans to have bank accounts in Switzerland and vice versa. Usually banks have international partners that handle international transfers to their country for them, so I think it wouldn't hurt to ask your bank if they can give you recommendations.

Thanks for the input. I will let you know if something gets worked out. I am sick of green bills, maybe some colorful euros can help

America has the most boring money I have ever seen. Wait a minute when we were in the Dominican Republic the money may have been the same colour. Virginia you would know. I don't mean to offend anyone. British money is so colourful. I understand what you mean Baby Face! Laura. <><

Claire, welcome. As you can see, there's a wee bit of the Irish in me. LOL! In fact, I have a cousin who's last name is Brennan. Hope to see more of you on the board.

it funny how you take things for granted, never really thought of our money as colourful.
I like the paypal idea but only because it so easy. LOL
