Today, QK Mary and I went to a craft store that was having their 11th anniversary. It is a unique craft store, smaller scale of Joann's. By this I mean, they have quilting, floral, photo framing, stamping, and scrapbooking, paint supplies, and beading. They have 4 main events "clubs" a month, quilting, stamping, scrapbooking, and beads.
Their make and take was embellishing a Canvas bag! It was a lot of fun. We took fabric cupcakes and attached them to the bags and at one station, we added bling! Oh, that was fun! We attached rhinestones and pearls with a heat iron. You position your rhinestones where you want them and then apply the heat iron! Within 20 seconds, it is attached to the fabric! They had the heat iron on sale so I just had to have it! The rhinestones have a heat activated glue to attach them. Since you could only make one, I asked a woman who didn't want one for herself to make one for my mom! My mom loved her reusable shopping bag! I can't wait to Bling! my other bags now!
They had a cool 40% off coupon that they usually only give out once a year on their big craft night. Needless to say, I was "hoarding" the 40% off coupons for items that I think I need! QK Mary and I took turns watching the basket and checking out in different lines. We saved a lot of $$$$ today on high ticket items.
I can't wait to "Bling" my scrapbooking apron now!

thanks so much for sharing your craft store idea. It sounds like you had a really fun time and will be able to use the technique in many many ways. What you shared gave me an idea or two so as soon as the stores open I think I will run out and see what I can find. I will let you know how it turns out and If others share their ideas since we are all from different parts of the world this thread could be a great technique library source. Kuddos for getting it started. ;D

Sounds like you've disovered the hotfix!!!
Lots of people over here are working with that too. Even on their layouts.
It's not for me though.. I don't have much with bling

Oh! It sounds like you had a great time. I love sewing and quilting and have to be careful not to go overboard and keep my fabric purchases down. I once had enough to almost open a Fabric Store. Thanks so much for sharing! <><

It's similar to HotFix. It is sooo much fun! I made three canvas bags yesterday! I worked on mine and a woman started one for my mom and then I went back. They teased me about the third bag! I will take some pix and post later. Today, we went to Stride Rite to buy new shoes for my grandson. I took my new canvas bag! I love that bling! Can't wait to make more!

Cheryle and I had a great time. I didn't buy the hot rhinestone setter because I have a bazillion of the old rhinestones where you have to glue the little suckers down. I just couldn't see wasting them and replacing them with the new ones. I tell you I am on a crusade to use my stuff up. Now before you think that I am noble, I have to say waive a QK alpha or die under my nose I am all over it. Just ask Cheryle!!!!!!

I was hoping to have a pix of all three because they're different, however; we are all using them Here's two views of mine! Since it was their 11th year anniversary, cupcakes were the theme. We ironed on the cupcakes and then decorated them. You can barely see the "bling" in these pix We had an interesting booth and that was making shrinky dinks! Spent 4 hours there that day messing around! ooooooooooooooH, I have ideas for embellishing my Scrapyland bag too!

Thank you! As soon as I find my large rhinestones, I'm gonna glue one in the middle of the flower!
I have a scrapbooking apron that I used at trade shows and now I'm gonna "bling" it now that I have this handi Kandi's tool!
