We must be sharing the same mail carrier...ours never delivers packages on the weekend, and usually leaves packages that don't fit in the box out on the street, instead of bringing them to the door (guess it's too many steps for her to take!). I hope your day gets better!

My mail carrier arrived today and I had to pay postage on something that I already paid to much shipping for. Crazy person used a media mail label, but put it in a Priority Mail envelope. So I feel your pain, but atleast I got my packages, including one from ScrapyLand.

Christine, It sounds like you have not taken the time to train your Mailman. They need this and then you will see a hugh difference, trust me. Find out what motivates your mailman. Coffee and donuts for his break did the trick for mine. If he brings a parcel that needs to be signed and I am not home he signs for me and seeks out a neighbor to leave it with. WE have a wonderful group of neighbors here. Russell know only to leave Subway coupons here and that we will take extras ( they get more than they need. All other junk mail does not hit my mailbox. You have to cultivate anything to get good results. Laura. <><

Cygnet...would Rusell be willing to come to California, and run a workshop for mail carriers on how to make the people on their route happy, and how, if they did, there might be doughnuts, coffee, chocolate, etc., waiting for them? BTW, while I was writing this, I saw my carrier leave something at the curb...AGAIN!!!

Now you don't need Russell ~ You need me! ;D I am the one who carefully shaped and trained him. I think I have it down to a fine art as he leaves notes for the people who does his route when he is on Vacation! ( That is one thing I have failed on ....he still takes his 11 weeks of vacation......even tears don't work. ) So his replacements come knowing what the procedure is but I still need to figure out the reward. For some it is simply an nice tall glass of Ice tea each day. I had a lovely female carrier in the spring who loved shortbread cookies for her break. I have only had 2 miserable fill ins and one never even knocked on the door when I had a parcel he just left a " You were not home in my mailbox. Go pick up your parcel at the post office after ......... Card " Please don't do that? Russell supplied me with his supervisors phone # so that if that happens again I can call and the dear guy will have to come back at the end of his shift with my parcel. I hope you all understand... We need those parcels!! ;D ;D ;D Anyway, Russell is too busy to come. I need my mail/parcels! Laura. <><

Laura---- I am sure you are a good trainer. I wonder how I can get my mailman to you for training--- He once left my package containing my QK Revolution Finale alphabet set on the open door of the mailbox!!! I was horrified to come home and see the mailbox open and the package just sitting there on the open door!!! We had a female carrier, Carol, for the longest time and then she retired and let this guy take over... Guess I will have to work harder at "training" this one! ---Mary Beth

Mary Beth, Don't give up. The rule at first is always reward, never punish. They love rewards and will therefore seek to please so that they are rewarded. Once you have this down you are 1/2 way home. Remember to be Patient as first while they are learning. Speak with a smile. Let me know when you are ready for the next step. I know you can do it. ;D ;D ;D Laura. <><
Maria, So pleased to hear about the new addition to your family! LOL Laura. <><
