Hey JoEllen! Welcome to the board! Congrats on the Big Shot...you will LOVE it! I can cut practically anything on mine. You can cut any Sizzix shape, of course, including Originals small medium and large, Bigz, decorative strips, Sizzlits, Clearlits, and Embosslits. But did you know that you can also use Boss Kut shapes and alphabets, Quickutz Revolution and 2 x 2 shapes and alphabets, Cuttlebug and Cuttlekids shapes and alphabets? And that's not all...you can use Cuttlebug embossing folders, Fiskars Texture Plates, and any Sizzix Texturz and Simple Impressions embossing folder! Any Ellison Design product works on the Big Shot, because Ellison Design stuff was made by the same company that makes Sizzix (Ellison) when Provocraft still had the license to market Sizzix products. (And thank goodness that relationship expired!!) And here's something I just figured out...if you have an ordinary brass stencil, you can use it in your Big Shot! Just make a sandwich like this: Multi-use platform with all tabs down, Texturz silicone pad, paper, stencil, Texturz hard pad. Voila, a stencil embossed without a lightbox and stylus! Have fun experimenting, and let me know if you come up with a use for the Big Shot that I haven't found yet!

Welcome JoEllen! I had no idea that the big shot was so versatile. I am more than a little jealous at the moment. The people on this board are up on everything!
