I would love to get my hands on the retired quickutz dog tag die. But the problem is I need it fast. I am running a Community Service Night for my Girl Scout Service Unit and one of the stations is a card making station for military men and women. I didn't even realize that a dog tag die existed!! I probably wasn't into die cuts that much when it came out. Anyway my Community Service night is this Friday night 11/13 and I would love to get my hot little hands on the die before then so I could cut out some dog tags for the girls to use to make cards. If anyone has one that they would like to sell to me and can get it to me here in NJ very soon, please let me know!! Thanks, Lori

Ladies you are awesome!! That would be great! I did order the die from ebay, but it is coming from Utah and it isn't shipping until tomorrow, so I am not sure if it will make it on time or not. Probably will arrive in Saturday's mail!! LOL Anyway, if you don't mind cutting some out for me ~ that would be so cool!! I know the girls are going to love the little dog tags to spell out HERO!! I appreciate your help!! You Ladies are the BEST!!

Lori, How many girls are you expecting? I know those council events can really range in number of girls. Used to do them with my 16yo not so long ago.

Hi Phyllis,
It is so hard to say when they don't have to pay for the event!! I know that is terrible, but you have the people who respond right away and don't show up, and then you have the people who never let you know and then they show up with their whole troop. I don't really have a clue! And I am running this! I just can't get people to commit to anything. I am hoping for a real big turn out because I have 300 Pocket Flags to be folded for the military on the frontline. I have at least 400 denim squares to be signed for Operation Quiet Comfort, they make denim quilts out of the signed blocks for our injured overseas soldiers. Plus we are making cards for the military, making Happy Socks for the homeless cats at a local animal shelter, plus I have 200 fundred dollar bills for the girls to design thier own hundred dollar bill for the Fundred Dollar Bill Project, they are to help made safe the lead contaminated soil in the US. Plus we are putting together 13 Memory Albums to be used for Alzheimer patients. It is going to be a very busy night. But because it is a free event you can't predict how many will show. Whatever you send to me will be fine! I have a bunch of stickers that I will let them use and I am going to cut out some general Thinking of You and Thank You type cards. The cards are also for Operation Quiet Comfort and they only want cards of Thanks, Encouragement and Thinking of YOu type cards to send to the military.
Geesh!! I am sorry this is so long! I guess I am getting excited about the event on Friday!!
Thanks for your help! Lori

Hi Lori, Sounds like it will be a lot of fun! Also sounds like the kind of event Scouts will turn out for in droves. I hope all goes well. I remember doing those kinds of things with my daughter - do you have ear plugs? I cut out 200+ dog tags and I am on my way to the post office now. Too many is better than too few! Phyllis

Phyllis and Twinkles,
Thank you so very much!! I appreciate the help! I am sure the girls will have a blast making the cards. I just have to make sure I have enough paper for them to make cards! Yikes! This week is moving by too quickly!!
Thanks, Lori

Always happy to help out the Girl Scouts and our men in service and, of course, a diva in need.
Don't worry you'll get it all done!

Yes, my daughter is in scouts, has been since Kindergarten and she is now a freshman in High School. And I have been involved in it since then too. I am a leader, was the Area Product Sales Manager for our SU, and now I am in my third year of being Service Unit Manager. I was also in scouts as a girl.

Phyllis,
Thank you so very much for cutting out all those wonderful dog tags!! They arrived in time for my Community Service Night and the girls loved using them on the cards. We got a lot of cards made, but I am too tired to count them all tonight. I will let you know tomorrow. I really appreciate you doing that for me!! That was totally awesome!! We had a great turn out and we got all 300 pocket flags folded for the soldiers on the front line!

You're welcome Lori; happy to help. I am glad to hear you had a good turnout and everything went so well. You must be exhausted!
Both of my daughters were Scouts. My oldest is 25 now and my youngest is 16. This is my 16 year olds first year not participating in Scouts so I was involved for a looooot of years myself. I was always the craft mom in both troops and that suited me fine. My oldest daughters troop didn't have a lot of parent involvment. We moved between her stopping scouts and my youngest starting into scouts. My youngest daughters troop had awesome parental involvement. The leader was a good organizer, we had a parent who played guitar and sang, I did crafts, etc., etc. Everyone helped out and everyone seemed to have a niche they could fill so it was great!
I'm sure the girls had a lot of fun. Like I said earlier Scouts usually love to participate in things that help others so I am not surprised the military involvement was something the girls loved doing.
