Well I got the die, and was really excited by the samples on the Quickutz website, but I am a bit stumped. Nobody has shown the insides so maybe someone else can help me. With all the notebooks being made, how are they binding multiple pages for their notebooks without holes, or ribbons that I can see? I want to create personalized notebooks for my kids, but am wondering if I am going to have to sew pages togetherto put them inside. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas, or info concerning this?

Sophia,
I was thinking sewing would work, too. The ones you buy in the store are sewn. I don't have my set yet (dumb embossing folders are holding up my CHA order!), but Susan showed a super cute card that she made on the blog. She said that she used tape to adhere the spine.
I wonder if a line of hot glue would work? That may be a big pain to line up, though it may be worth a try. Or you could use staples or brads to put the book together and just put the spine on top of that.

Hi Sophia!! I have glued my covers into the spine for a card effect. And I plan on punching holes to do the next project I have sketched out. The first cut I made though I overlapped a fold in my paper, so the crease was just inside the cutting edge. This gave me a folder effect. I think I'm just going to staple those into the comp cover, once the cover is glued inside the spine. Is that making sense? We'll do a sample with it soon - and the DT should have their dies soon too...we'll get you filled in. But if you come up with any other ideas before then - do share!

Ellen, you are a trouble maker! I made a book for DD last summer with this composition die set. Her BFF was here visiting for 10 days and they took 100s of pictures. They wanted to put an album together, so I took some art paper (about the weight of poster board) and cut the pages. It worked really well and the girls were thrilled. I didn't "bind" the book, but took my hole punch and punched holes along the edge and used binder rings to hold the book together. It was a good change to add a bunch of girly ribbon.

This is a wonderful book! Did you use the composition die for it? I have the 7 gypsy binderie punch and thought that it might work for this die, too!
What a wonderful mom you are to take the time to do this with the girls, too!
Just thought the link might help some other newbie out there like myself.
Trouble maker now signing off.....

Yep, it's the composition book. It's the perfect size for a mini album. I cut the pages out myself, but then let the girls go to town with decorating. I pulled out a bunch of dies that fit the pictures and then let them do the die cutting. (Last summer, they were 11, rising 6th graders.)
DD and I made a banner that said "Camp Ally" and signs that said "Mess Hall," "Latrine," "Bunk House," etc. I had a bunch of papers/flowers/etc left over. So they used a lot of those scraps.
But it was the best camp ever! Ally came up to Boston with her family for vacation and stayed for 10 days after they left. My DS and DH were gone on a long canoeing trip, so it was just the girls here. We crafted, went to the cape, crafted, went to the mall, crafted, went to the pool daily, had our nails done, crafted... Ally went home with a big box of her crafts! It was just a fun and relaxing time for all of us.

Michelle, I want to come to "camp" at your place! (And I don't "do" camp...my idea of "roughing it" is a shower instead of a tub in the hotel room! ;D).
I love the book! It reminds me of the tag books that I have made for my grandsons' first birthdays (and I'm starting on one for the grandson whose BD is March 2nd). I cut giant, over-sized "tags" from chipboard, and then decorate them with BD-themed papers, punch 2 holes at the end, run the binder rings through and tie the ribbons on them. My daughter takes about a dozen pictures of the "attack" on the cake, and I put them in the book. The older boys (4 and 6) love to look at "their" books when they come to visit...so much fun!

Michelle- I still cannot believe how similar our daughters are!!! My daughter and her friend can out craft me!!! They spent most of the day in the craft room this past weekend. I gave up about 10pm! Friends mom was due to pick her up at 5 the next day and about 4 Friend begged to make the envelope belly band book that Susan showed us last fall. So we whipped one out before Mom got there Mom said she almost expected Friend to sneak out of the house and move into my craft room. Cindy

Michelle, that album is SO cute! I'm with Diane, can I sign up for your next camp???
I've stapled the pages into the Comp book, but it does take a long armed stapler (the standard ones don't reach). Gail

Cute book Michelle! I like the idea of using the rings too.
Gail, I recently learned a little trick when you need a long armed stapler but don't have one. Open your stapler flat and use a piece of foam core underneath what you are stapling. Staple your project on the foam core. The staple stays open and comes right out of the foam core. You can then go in and close the staples with tweezers. (I hope that made sense.)

Phyllis, what a great trick! (And, yes your description makes perfect sense.) Thanks for sharing. Gail

Cindy, I had to laugh at that. The Belly Band album is pretty cute! Ally's mom loves that I do that with Ally, because she isn't at all crafty. Really, I wondered how they would do for 10 days after not seeing each other for about 6 months. It was wonderful! No bickering at all. I told mom Ally was welcome back any time! Phyllis, that's a good trick. I'll have to try that. I didn't think of foam core--when I've tried this trick before, it's never worked. But I've stapled into air or carpet or something. I dug out some pictures of the banner and the signs. We sent everything home with Ally so that she could hang them in her room. (And not add to the clutter here! )

Stapling into a bulletin board would work, too.
I use staples on the bulletin boards at work and when removed, the staple is straight. So, if someone didn't have the foam core but had a bulletin board, it would work that way.
