This is in the early stages and is not a done deal! But I was just over on the QK message board and saw a post about QK possibly making the gears for the Revolution available again. It's all the way down on the bottom of the page: www.quickutz.com/qk2/forums/viewPosts.aspx?threadId=796&page=2Keep your fingers crossed! The Rev is still my favorite machine! Michelle

Michelle I have been thinking of selling my Revolution and am not useing it much because of the gear issue. I was looking for a used one to buy just for parts. Thanks so much for this update, I have hope again.

Oh, please keep us all up to date. My Rev is working just fine, but I dread the day when it finally gives out. I'd be willing to buy one or two sets of gears to have on hand just in case.

I think each and every person who owns a Rev would be interested in another set of gears. I bought an entire Rev in December, just to get the gears. Have I ever mentioned that I hate my Epic... Honestly, I will be so impressed with QK if they do manufacture these gears. I think it shows that they are willing to listen to their customers. I know there is a big story behind discontinuing the Rev, but gears are relativey cheap to have manufactured. And it can be done in the USA. I'll be watching this one closely. The source comes from an email from the company and the MB moderater, who works for the company. It's definitely being discussed, but it doesn't sound like a decison has been made (or at least made public.) Michelle

Michelle, great news! I also snapped up an extra rev for back-up. It's still my favorite die cutter (you can't beat that magnetic platform!) Gail

I think that would be great as well. I had my Epic for over 6 months before I even opened it.
I managed to "break" both machines on the same day. My revolution gears finally broke and I managed to break the Epic in the first hour of use. They did replace my Epic but I still don't like it as much. I use the BS now more then the Epic. Such a shame!!

I have 2 revolutions and my daughter has one that I bought her. So I feel I have a backup. No gears broke yet but if they were available i sure would purchase a couple of sets. I love my revolution. I have one set up with the long plate in it and the other I use for small projects and I still use my pink squeeze for a quick project. I only use my Epic for the large dies and to Emboss. I just can't get used to it. Deborah Keizer

I just use my Epic to emboss. There's no way I'm risking my Rev gears on that! And DD is only allowed to use the Epic. (Remember, she's the one who broke my original Rev.) She says that it's hers and that she "lets" me use it. Sure, Honey. Whatever!

I have not had any luck with embossing with the Epic. I use the Cuttlebug for that. I occasionally use the Epic, for larger dies (and so it does not get jealous) but I much more prefer the Rev. I also have 2, 1 for back-up, but would buy gears to be safe.

I think it would be the smartest thing for QK in a long while if they did. I mean how expensive could that possibly be for them?? I love my Rev and use it everytime I create. I only use my Epic if I have to.

I'll have to pull out her rubber ducky page. She went through a rubber ducky phase. DD and DS were in the tub & she was about 2. She has the biggest armful of duckies and is scowling at DS. The title says, "All Mine." To be fair, DS was probably trying to steal them!
I think I'm going to call QK next week and see if they know anything about the gears. It can't hurt to ask...

My Rev is still working, but if they make gears available I'm going to buy some for the "just in case" time that I'm sure will arrive. Thanks for keeping us up to date, Michelle!

Oh, happy day! Can't wait to get some. Been trying to avoid using my Rev too much so it wouldn't die on me... Now I don't need to worry. Gail

Like you Gail, I have avoided my Revolution. I would buy gears for sure.
Hope they bring in a boat load - they will sell quickly

So far (fingers crossed) my Revolution has been kind to me....no hiccups yet. I do have an Epic too, along with 2 of the new flexible mats that go with it. I think the Epic works very well with the new mats, but I still use my Revolution more. Mainly because it's on my scrap desk....
But I would totally buy gears for my Rev...just in case it decides to hiccup!

Yep, I'm babying my Rev along. I treat it with utmost kindness! No undue stress, no forcing it to do what it doesn't want to, no embossing or anything like that. I believe it's fully capable of doing all that--but I don't want to risk it! I used my Epic lots last week and it behaved nicely. I was cutting with Sizzix dies and it cuts them so very beautifully! I got a new flex mat and it seems to be doing better cutting QK as well. Maybe it's shapin up??? I'm so keeping my fingers crossed about the Rev gears! Michelle

Oh my gosh! There is a post over on the QK forums where a woman is reporting that she received her Rev gears in the mail a few days ago. She reports that they work great! I haven't seen mine in the mail, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have 2 Revs and one is non-operational. I live in fear that I will strip out another set of gears and have nothing! Michelle

Yes, when I cut all that felt for the (ahem) DT project, I used the Epic because I didn't want to stress my Rev gears. But I have my Rev sitting on the table and it easier to just use that. I can't wait! Michelle

You need to contact QK/LC and let them know that you need another set of gears. I think there was a charge, but it was months ago that I contacted them and don't remember how much it was.
