Cindy, that's a great idea! I've just saved the alpha cards (or the illustration on the back of the package), and kept them together with large notebook rings. I like your idea much better!

Cindy, great job on the font book. Sure lets you decide at a glance what font you want to use on your pages/cards.

Great idea, Cindy. I saved the package insert on my fonts, but this is much better and lets you see the actual size. As soon as I get my act together (I'm not holding my breath on that! ) I'm gonna make one! Thanks for sharing. Gail

I've been using a similar book for years and it's something I couldn't scrap without. I created separate sheets for each size - skini mini, mini, classic and grand and I color coded my alphas: pink=QK, green=Sizzix, red=Bosskuts. It helps my scrapbuddies to find the alphas on their own.
When I'm working on a project, I know about how tall my letters should be, but often the width is a problem, as German words tend to be 2-3 letters longer than English. So I pull out my alpha binder and can roughly estimate if the letters would fit ;D
I'll take a picture of it for you tomorrow.

Fantastic book.. so much easier to decide which alphabet to use when you can see it punched out. I have a small one.. with the first 4 letter of each alpha and the name written next to it... I was to lazy to write out the full name

I have been working on my font book and in doing so I found a alpha die that does not cut well. I contacted Qk and I am going to exchange it for another die.
Glad I am doing the book.

It's good to know that the new company is still standing by the product!

As promised, here are pictures of my font book - usually the pages are tied together with ribbon, just took it apart to get better photos.

Thanks Cindy, green are Sizzlits, blue Sizzix steel rule dies (=> can get chipboard titles from them), red Bosskuts and yellow Zip'eMate. Apricot is a great font, cute for cards and subtitles. It's by Bosskuts, but I think they've retired all their fonts, and I haven't seen it in stock anywhere recently, not even on the big E. Most of the non QK alphas I got on clearance when they retired or when Sizzix changed their packaging ;D ;D ;D

Wow, Barbara! I thought I had a lot of fonts! I wish that I had started that way! I did mine on index cards and put them in one of those plastic $1 photo albums. I like it, but I only see one or two fonts at a time. I like seeing a comparison of sizes like you have shown. And I love the fact that you color coded them to know which ones you can use with chipboard or where to start looking for them! Great job! TFS---MB

Barbara, you are so organized, I'm in awe! I never thought about color coding by manufacturer, but its a terrific idea. I thought I was a fontaholic, but you put me to shame!! ;D I'm hoping to find enough time this weekend to make my own font book. Thanks to all of you Divas for the good ideas. Gail

Cindy and Barbara, I just LOVE this idea. I can really see the value of having the fonts together so you can see the size of the words. I think I'm going to do this. I don't want to take the time to put it together, but I think I can con DD into helping out one day this weekend. I'll sell it as "Girl Time!" Michelle

And I thought I was a font-aholic Love your font books. I'm way too lazy to create such a huge thins so I keep track of my fonts this way: [/img] I just copied the whole alphabet from QK´s website and pasted it into a word document. Then i printed it and die cut the A and a to see the real size. This makes it possible to see all the letters. Finally I laminated it.

Can you see the picture??? I've tried every way I know but I can't make it right. I know I haven't been able to post pics the last months even if I've done exactly as I've done before...

Anyone want to make me one??? I'd love to have one like this, but I have so many alphabets it would take me forever to do this. I have done this with the shapes though and started way back when so it's doable, but the fonts I never did.

It was fun to make- just find a rainy day and a favorite movie series (it will take a few hours) and a pile of paper!!! Then adding the new ones is a breeze- just fit them in when you get them! It really is fun to look through. Cindy

I tried to con DD (11 years) into starting this yesterday. I was working on the Starting Blox and she was bored. "Hey Skippy, remember that font book? Wouldn't it be great to have one of those? Nope, she chose to make a house for her pet rock. Darn! Michelle
