Susan, I understand about trying to find pants for tall people. Eugene and Michael (son) wear Levis. Button fly, straight legs, pre shrunk. Eugene wears 32 waist 36 length, Michael wears 26 waist and 38 length. My brother wears Wanglers 34 waist and 38 length. His son wears same as Michael. I'm sure it's even harder for tall women to find jeans. Michelle, I hem my pants too. I've learned a few tricks to reach things up high. Yard sticks are a short woman best friends..... I found a small step stool and the house paint department at Wal-Mart that makes putting shower curtain a lot easier on me. It has white metal tube legs and a heavy duty black plastic step. I use it to step/ set on in the house when cleaning. I have one to do yard / garden work and I take it camping. Cat

The shower curtain is successfully hung. Although I'm regretting getting the cheap one. It's really flimsy! I'll be doing this chore again shortly, as I know this one is going to rip, too. DS is a bit of a brute. How did the jeans shopping go, Susan? I would have gone with you. We could dog the girls wearing the jeans that give them a muffin top/thong view. Don't they know they DO NOT look good? Skinny girls, too. Why would they give themselves a muffin top??? Cat, you have some tall, skinny men in your family! Wowza! Michelle

Here in Germany, we don't have vent covers (actually most people have radiators but no air condition) but they sell magnetic sheets to put comercials on your car. The guy selling these on Ebay must think I've wallpapered my car completely up to the windows ;D ;D ;D Unter welchem Namen kaufst Du die denn ? Ich hab mir jetzt extra aus Amerika welche mitgebracht, ich finde die eifach nicht in Deutschland ... Ute

Ute, good to see you again! I hope you are doing well. But we need a translation, please! All I can pick out of that is "America" and "Germany!" Michelle

Magnetic sheeting in a roll... Check this out!!! This is the first place I checked. There might be cheaper sources. Wouldn't it be great if Dani would carry this? The shipping might be horrible so he might not be interested... but a roll of this stuff would be great to me! I mount the magnetic covers on the inside of my cabinets with velcro. When I get home I will post pictures..... I really am excited about this idea! www.custom-magnets.com/colored_magnetic_Sheets.htm

Great idea! But there's no PINK! And holy cow, is that stuff pricey! However, it would be nice to have one big sheet of magnet. Michelle

*Ute asked me if I'd tell her the Ebay name of the seller or what item to enter into Ebay search, she bought some in America cause she couldn't find it in Germany.* You need to do a search for "Magnetfolie" , not sure if the seller I bought from is still active, he only got four feedback last month, so I'd go with the search HTH

Susan, did you have any luck with the jeans?? I'm 5'10", and thought I had it bad - in high school and college I wore guys jeans, so I could get a 34" inseam, now I can find them at places like LLBean and Eddie Bauer, but I don't think they have 36"... Ah, the joys of being tall - I was the tallest person in my 8th grade class - fond memories of having the boys rest THEIR heads on MY shoulder (or worse yet, boob! ) when dancing! Things improved a bit in high school when the boys started their growth spurts. Did you play basketball and volleyball, too? Seems like us tall girls were in demand for those sports! Cheerleader - not so much!!! On the plus side, I can reach most anything in the kitchen cabinets, gaining 5 lbs isn't so obvious when it can be spread over a 5'10" frame, and a guy does tend to take a gal a bit more seriously when she's taller than he is!! I used to wish I'd stopped growing at 5'8". Now that I'm in menopause, with my spine shrinking with age, I'll probably get that wish!!! Gail

Gail, now I am jealous! Never mind the difficulties of shopping for pants--you can gain 5 lbs and not notice! If I gain 5 lbs, I'm pulling out the fat pants. And I DO notice the junk in my trunk! I did play volleyball in jr high. I was fairly good, too. But that was in the days before it was so physical. I'm not sure I could dive bomb and spike the ball like they do now! Michelle

Michelle oh it might be nice being able to gain 5 pounds and not notice - but I'd really REALLY like to drop down one more size before Christmas, but to make that happen I have to lose about 18 pounds. That is what 1 pant size is on me. My sister - drops a pant size every 6 pounds - I hate her! LOL - not really! I did find TWO PAIRS of jeans - but I gave up finding full length jeans. I bought shorts instead {which I do quite often} because then they fit me like 1960s floods or crops. I love that style because in AZ we wear flip-flops until New Year's Day...so cropped jeans with a cute cuff and flippies - love it! Two new pairs for MN, and a new long sleeved tshirt...I think I'm ready to go!!! PS - Gail I'm shocked to hear you're 5' 10" ... I pictured you much shorter. Don't ask why, cuz I don't know. But it balances out because Michelle I pictured much taller!

Isn't it funny how we get a picture in our minds of what each other looks like? I didn't picture Gail that tall, either. But I'm short. And I hem my petite pants. And I love capris because then I don't have to hem them. I just have to make sure that they are the shorter style, or they just look like pants that are too short!
See, to drop a size for you it will take some work. Eighteen lbs isn't easy for anyone. But it's really hard for me to drop 5 lbs. It takes a TON of work. So I guess it evens out. But I'm still waiting for that magic weight loss pill...
I'm glad that you found some jeans. Everyone in MN wears jeans, all the time. It's not supposed to be that cold there this weekend, but I don't know that I would wear flip flops! But then, my feet are always cold. I like shoes that I can wear socks with. Be sure to take a jacket/sweater/sweatshirt. You will need one when it's cooler at night. One summer we were home and I forgot to pack jackets. I ended up buying everyone jackets while we were there. At least they were on clearance. (Because in July, they are making room for winter coats!)

I played volleyball in Jr. high and in high school. Played basketball on the B team in high school. I even was in track. I got my jaw broke in Jr high playing volleyball and end up with a dislocated knee cap playing basketball in high school. Coach thought short stocky people with muscles made good guards. Gail, in Jr high and high school the boys thought it was really funny to rest their elbows on my head. Sure didn't endure them to me when they decided I might be a good date. Cat
