after a very funny trip to Home Depot to get 2 packs of the magnetic vent covers (lady had no idea what I was talking about, hubby couldn't understand what I was trying to describe, I finally found them on my own, lol), but I am stuck. I know some put them on the side of desks, if you did that, what did you use to secure them on the desk? I have glass doors so can't put them on the back of doors. How did anybody else use theirs? Hubby is still shaking his head, lol, but I need these desperately to store the ever growing collection of cookie cutter dies! Vicki

Mine are on the inside of the doors of a cabinet. I used those 3D wall hanger things that have velcro on both sides and if you pull the rubber tab they are suppose to come off the wall with no mess. Did that make any sense LOL. I put one side on the door and the other on the back of the vent cover. Than if I needed to just remove the whole vent cover it is just velcroed not glued to the door. I found them at Home Depot as well but I'm betting any office place would have them.

Those wall hangers thingies are at Walmart, Target, Michael's, Office Depot, everywhere. They are the best invention ever. And they really do come off cleanly without a trace. We use them everywhere in the house, in lockers, in closets... They really do hold the weight (buy the right ones for the weight needed.) The hooks even come in some really nice metal hooks that DH uses in his office. And I use just the tabs to hang lots more.
I hung my metal sheets on the back of my sewing cabinet. I just didn't have anywhere else to hang them. My studio is pretty open and there aren't a lot of walls. I used double sided carpet tape to hang the large sheets and they haven't budged a bit. But I would consider this a permanent application. If you wanted it to be temporary, you could use Seester's idea. It's a good one.
I honestly don't know what I would do with all those dies without this magnet board. And best of all, they are all right there and I just grab what I need, use it and pop it right back. It's so convenient and easy!

Yah, I think it's Michelle's table I have saved on my computer. Will check out Target tomorrow, can't wait to get them up cause I feel like there are cc's everywhere, lol. I appreciate everyone's help and sharing this great storage idea! Vicki

I really need to get some of the vent covers. I'm waiting for my daughter and her husband to claim her hope chest (it was actually my mother's) so I can redo my craft room. Vent covers are on my list. Don't know where I'll put them, but I have plenty of dies to put them on!

that's my problem too, where to put them. I have no wall space (bookshelves take up one wall, huge window takes up the other, doors take up another and dang it, Johnny Depp takes up and no way is he going anywhere, lol), was thinking about the sides of the white storage cubes. Plenty of dies, just not much room. Vicki

Vicki, Can Johnny Depp become partially magnetic? Think how good he'd look with some nesting dies!

Am I remembering correctly that Susan put her's up with the ATG? That adhesive comes up if you rub over it with your finger. So that may work if you put the magnetic sheets on the cubes. Then if you change things around, you can move them, too. I was going to use a big bulletin board and cover the cork with magnet, but I didn't have anywhere to hang it. But that's another idea. Here is a picture of my sewing cabinet. I really like this method! Michelle

yes, that's the picture I had saved. Loved it. Just have to put my thinking cap on and figure something out. Vicki

Another option would be to get a 3 ring binder and some page protectors. (heavy duty!) I know office supply stores and ACM carries 8 1/2" x 11" magnetic sheets. You can fit most of the CC dies on a sheet and store them on a book shelf.
I'm considering doing this with Santa's Workshop. This picture was taken a few months ago and I've added to my collection. I'm running out of room and I have no where else to go. I can put some of the nesting shapes into a magnetic binder, but I like having them out where I can see them.

I have some stored that way and it just takes up too much space. Hopefully I can work on it over the weekend. Oh and about Johnny Depp, oh crap, just looked at some of the random pictures I have up and guess what, they're on a magnetic board, lol. Nope, they're not coming down, lol. Vicki

What about the sides of your bookcases or do you have a closet, can you use the inside of the doors? Not as visual but still easily accessible.

I need to get these vent covers and put them in a binder like Katie shows on the blog.
Such a great idea! Thanks Katie for sharing!

One of the reasons I've stayed away from the huge vent cover idea is that I like to bring all my QK stuff to scrap retreats. But if I had them in a three-ring binder using the vent covers cut down, I'd be able to grab and go. I could even organize them by alphas, etc. Spellbinders could be the same. Love this MB!

No closet, and the bookshelves pretty much go to both walls. Six sides would have really been nice, lol. Vicki

i just pulled the 'vent' off and it is sticky under there and i just 'stuck' them to the back of the door so if you know you are going to leave them where you are putting them, you can always do that

Goo gone is my product of choice. I know some people use vegetable oil, but it takes a bit more elbow grease.
