Ladies,
I know that this isn't necessarily a scrapy-type question, but it does have scrap implications. My husband and I need to buy a new computer. Our Dell gave us the blue screen of death on Friday, and although we were able to save the data off of the hard drive, a capacitor in the motherboard had exploded, rendering the computer useless.
We are trying to decide if we want to buy a new PC or a mac. I was hoping that you might have some insight. We have both worked with macs in the past, but have not owned one.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

We have PCs, but DH used a Mac at work and said they have far fewer problems because they're proprietary (meaning they don't release developer codes...hackers can't hack into them). In the past they didn't have the applications for home users, but now they supply to the home market as well as professional. DH also says that the graphics are better.
That said...we have a daughter who works for Microsoft, so materials are available to us at her $$$.
Best of luck with your decision!

I have loved Macs from the first time I set my fingers to the keyboard. I don't really HATE PCs, but find them to be a pain in the butt and not reliable. A friend of mine has gone through two of them in 18 months.
That being said, my children and my husband all use PCs. I will never trade, though. Never ever.

I've only used PCs, no experience with Mac. But its clear to me that PC users think their machines are OK, but they're not in love with them. Mac users on the other hand - well just look at the comments above! ;D I'm kinda tied to PC because of medical software, but if I wasn't, I'd try a Mac! Gail

What do you love about it? I am uneasy about computers. I like super simple programs. I have a hard time remembering how to do things computer related unless I use it all the time. How does the Mac differ from PC? You all say you love it but specifically what is better about it?? Thanks Cindy

...How does the Mac differ from PC? You all say you love it but specifically what is better about it?? Thanks Cindy My DH says the graphics on the Mac are way better than PC's, but he used a PC at work, and is reluctant to learn a whole new system. (He says if he didn't know the PC, he'd get a Mac). I use a PC, because that's what I started with...and in my limited experience (still proudly holding the title of "Most Computer Illiterate"), it wouldn't be wise to start again!
