Thank you girls. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They threw a big party and I was in charge of the DVD so that is when I was able to get these pictures.
They got married in Cuba as Castro overtook it. My grandfather's business was taken away from him so he didn't have any money to throw my parents a party, so they just had a church wedding. No reception, no wedding album, no dancing and no cake.
For their 50th my Dad orchestraed another church ceremony with a big reception and my Mom finally got her wedding cake. I'm thinking that the last picture in the album will be her and Dad cutting the cake. God is good!

Thank you for sharing the story of their wedding! What a wonderful gift that your dad gave your mom! It's proof that there's a "Happily ever after", even when the beginning might not have seemed to be the start that makes up the fairy tale ideal. Congratulations to your parents...wow...FIFTY years!   |
