It is November 5th and the thought struck me that I should scrap my parents wedding pictures, since they don't have an album along side the pictures from their 50th anniversary. I have five weeks tops to get this done and mailed to them before Christmas. NOW my question.....
Please I don't want to be going up and down the internet looking for pretty papers. Anyone have any suggestions on a pretty wedding line?
I want to keep this simple. I'm adding journaling tags so my Mom and Dad can write their thoughts.

Dania,
I've done theme albums like this and if you want it done fast, I would K.I.S.S. (keep it super simple!) Pick a patterned paper, and maybe 2 colors of CS. Keep the layouts similar from page to page and keep the embellishments similar from page to page.
I did an album on our trip to Beijing in less than a month. I used the same background paper on all the pages and tore a strip of mulberry paper to use down the sides as a border. I had paper with Chinese characters on it. I took a punch and punched out squares and then took a bamboo stamp and stamped along the edge. Because I used so many pictures, I didn't use much more in the way of embellishments. Once I had all this planned out, it took a lot of the work out of making the LOs. I had the background paper, border, and embellishment all figured out. I plotted out the book and what pictures I wanted on each page.
You could use some quotes or poems as well. I love the idea of leaving room for journaling. It would be fun to get a he said/she said account of how the met/first date/marriage proposal.

Basic Grey's "Capella" line is supposed to be aimed at wedding themes. K and Company also has wedding papers. I would suggest shopping around at Michael's, JoAnn's, or even Target (if your Target is a superstore with a craft section). I just did a quick internet search under "wedding scrapbooking paper" and a whole bunch of sites came up...even if you don't want to shop on the internet, you'd get an idea of what to look for in the local stores. What a nice thing for you to do for your parents!

As I was thinking of this I thought Bazzill bling cream colored (don't know the exact name) as the background and I was going to mat all the pictures in black bling paper. But I would like a pretty paper to accent all the pages, which I will buy in bulk and use on all pages as you pointed out. I thought Prima Flowers and pearls would make a nice accent. A removable journaling tag for ease of writing. And that's it. I may have to go to my Michaels since they have the best paper selection I wish I would have thought of this when I was with Susan. I need to look at Dani's catalogue and see what is there. WHY? do these ideas strike me so late.

Yes, K and Company- My Hobby Lobby carries that but in a pad. Well maybe use different papers on each page as but keep the basic CS the same.

I'm just redoing my own wedding album from the time before I discovered scrapbooking. I found the La Creme stack by DCWV has lots of pretty papers in white, creme, grey and black. Some of them are flocked, really pretty and easy to combine. There's a coordinating cardstock stack (including bling and glitter papers) as well. These stacks should be available at M's, so you could use coupons. I have a couple of wedding pics taken at the park with lots of green, so I mixed in a few of the BG Capella papers, which have green too and it worked really well. HTH and good luck with the album.

How about Graphic 45 Le Romantique collection, I am planning on doing my album with this and Dani is selling it now. It is gorgeous. It already includes two sheets of tags if you get the 12 x 12 pad, so you don;t have to create any for journaling. You can just make cover the chipboard with the pattern paper and then make photo mats in black and cream for the photos. Or if you are doing a 12 x 12 then i would do the same thing, prima bling and flowers would look amazing with this collection along with some Prima lace.
Hugs, MIla

Dania, what a wonderful gift your parents will treasure! Love your ideas for the color scheme. The DCWV La Creme stack is gorgeous, and would fit right in. Some pages are flocked and look very rich. If you can't find that one, GCD studios makes a similar collection called Paris Nights which includes tags. (Think I found both of these at Mike's). Please let us see the results whatever you decide to use. I agree with Michelle about using the same layout for every page, just varying the pix and the accent printed paper each time. You can do this, I know it! Gail

Thanks girls - Joann's sells the Bling cardstock in single colors so I just ordered the Black Tie and String of Pearls. (25 per pack) I don't think I'll do more that 25 pages. They don't have that many pictures. I looked at the Graphics 45 and I love one of the papers and wish I could just get that. K and Company has wedding paper stack but the colors are so pale that I can't get a good idea viewing from my monitor. I have seen the Le Creme paper and I know that Joann's sales it so I'll head to the store tomorrow and check it out and Michaels is just across the street. I hope they have the GCD Paris Nights, but I'll do a search now to get an idea. OH and K and Company has a beautiful Silhouette paper which would add an elegant background. I was thinking Prima Flowers would be nice and when I was with Susan I saw some beautiful flowers. I'll need to see if I can pick some up. AND I need an album. I think for this project a post album would be pretty - one that they can leave out on a coffee table even though I wrote post albums off. Oh well. As long as I don't have to expand it, it's works.

Ohhh Gail that is pretty! I've never heard of this collection. AND they have one collection called "Rose Colored Glasses" that is so me, but not for my parents project. I guess I'll visit Michaels tomorrow.

For my wedding album, I used the DCWV La Creme stack too. It has such a beautiful texture to it and a slightly worn look. The bling cardstock would be a really nice contrast to the la creme. I chose burgundy, but almost any color would go nicely.
Have fun. That's a wonderful gift.

I'm thinking now to just do the wedding and honeymoon photos - they are all black and white and just love that vintage look.

Die Cuts with a view has 2 different Scrapbook Kits in a Stack related to wedding. One is called Love and Wedding. I have that one and it is really nice. The other one is called Elegant Wedding. They have printed papers, matching cardstock, stickers and vellum quotes all in one stack.

I would like to thank everyone for your suggestions. I ended up getting La Creme, because it was the only one the store had - sometimes it is better not to have a choice. I was going to use Bazzill bling but the coordinating cardstack pack had nice paper so I used those. The pictures are all printed matted and on the pages, so all I need to do now is the titles and embellishments. This of course will take me longer especially since I can't find the right flowers.

Wow, you've accomplished quite a bit! As for the flowers, you could always get a bag of white Primas, add colour and shine with Glimmer mists and use some of these nice crystal or pearly brads to attatch them - this is what I did for my wedding album. The Tim Holtz flourishes by Sizzix make nice embellishments too.

The Tim Holtz flourishes by Sizzix make nice embellishments too. The problem is finding them in my area. I did order some from evilbay, but not nearly enough since it was a bid thing. I did buy a spool of lace and organdy ribbon and with needle and thread made a flower and added pearls. BUT that would take so long. Does anyone know a good place to get these Prima flowers online? And I did want flourishes so let me take a look at Tim Holtz. Thank you again.

I will sometimes make my own flowers with my Cricut or Big Shot. I'm think of doing this also. I found some paper today that I think would make pretty flowers. What Cricut cartridge do you use for flowers? With some glimmer mist, pearls, inks and glitter I can make some pretty flowers.

Dania, I use to hand cut individual petals to make a flower (kinda rose look) Then QK came along and I started using some of the flowers to make a rose like flower. I use the QK 4x4 dies. Usually a 5 or 6 petal flower. After I cut several flowers. I cut the flowers apart. Start with 1 petal rolling a tube with a little glue....next add 2 petals (still connected) rolling around first petal....then 3 then 4 then 5....You are rolling and pinching the paper at the base of the petals until all of them are done. (If you want stems and, or centers start first petal rolled around them. Hope this is clear directions....if you have questions just ask and I'll try to explain it better. Cat

Cat Yes Cat I think I understand and I do have the nesting flowers among others. I was able to do a search on youtube and there are many tutorials on making your own flowers. And many instructions sounded similar to yours.

Dania, you need to do a mad cutting session. Then sit down with your favorite beverage and a good chick flick and crank out those flowers! Think of how much you will save than buying all those Prima flowers! I love them, but they are pricey if you need them in bulk. And you could make the flowers a bit flatter so that they work with a LO and page protectors. Michelle

A perfect way to pass the time! You can be chatty with the driver and still get your own stuff done. And for about a quarter of the price. In exactly the color and style that you want!
