hey ladies - I'm a tried-and-true Photoshop Elements user. Anyone here a full blown Photoshop user? Are there other programs out there that do the same things as PS or PSE - but aren't an Adobe product? I'm trying to figure out compatibility and ease-of-use issues. THANKS for any insight! I love love love PSE, and have no desire to spend the money to go full-bore PS...but I don't know if there is another option out there!

I use PSE and haven't even begun to scratch the surface of it's possibilities! But DS is taking a PS class as part of his arts rotation. Yep, that's right. My 13 year old knows more about it than I do. But he's loving that he can teach me what he knows!

I have stuck with PSE and it has worked for me. I am always experimenting and learning new things.
Why are you looking to change Susan?

I always go with free programs where I can because that leaves more money to spend on dies. I use Paint.NET, photoscape, and even good old MS Paint (which works surprisingly well for digital scrapbooking, believe it or not!). I'm way too committed to my die collection to actually go buy Photoshop. ;D

I use PSE - I'm so comfortable with it that I would hate to even venture to another. At this point it does pretty much everything I need except fix animal eyes, but I don't know it a later upgrade would do this. I haven't upgraded since 6.
