are proud of in 2010. Did you get that closet finally cleaned out? Get the baby potty trained? Keep yourself from going off on that annoying relative at Christmas dinner? Catch up on your scrapbooking?
It's great that we want to improve ourselves. And now is the time for New Year's Resolutions. But I think (especially as women) that we often don't give ourselves credit for what we DO accomplish.
So here is your chance to toot YOUR OWN horn! Tell one thing that you are proud to have accomplished in 2010.

great idea Michelle! Sounds like a scrapbook page doesn't it??? 2011 Resolutions...2010 Realizations LOVE LOVE LOVE it Michelle - but you didn't tell us yours?!?!?!? My "realizations" for 2010 that I"m most proud of... - surviving the 100th birthday party with a smile on my face - losing 15 pounds before my 25th class reunion last summer - seeing my children grow, mature, learn all while remaining true to our family value - taking a couple of chances that were scary at the time, but proved to be totally worth it - and sticking to my guns on our bathroom remodel no matter what my mother and my husband thought I'm writing these down and tweaking them - scrapbook page in the works!

I think the my proudest accomplishment this past year was to stand in front of a room of people and give an emotional toast at my parent's 50th anniversary - in Spanish. I did real well until halfway through I started crying, which caused many to join me and then I didn't feel so alone. I also did a lot of pages this past year. For 2011 - I want to accomplish more pages, run my first 1/2 marathon and hopefully start a local scrapbooking service. Let see how all this goes. AND in a few short months watching my baby girl get married.

See what happens when I get interrupted? I forget stuff! Susan, I love your Resolutions/Realizations page idea. I'm scraplifting that! What am I proud of this year? DS comes to mind. At our October meeting, his counselor says that if she didn't know about his Asperger's, she would just think he was a quirky kid! I work darn hard to keep that kid on an even keel--and it's working. And I'm proud of the delightful young lady that DD is turning into. Repeatedly, I hear what a joy it is just to be around her and her giving spirit. Rock on, Skippy! And I'm happy to say that I'm better at letting things go. I'm not working as hard trying to change people as I am trying to accept them for who they are. And I have some crazy family members that this applies to! But most of all? My greatest personal accomplishment this year? Is making the Design Team. I love this job, I love interacting with the Divas on the message board, I love working with Dani, Susan, Karen and Gail and I love creating projects. Love, love, love it. It's so much fun and so personally rewarding. I've got tons of pages scrapbooked, I've made more cards in the last year than I ever have and I've even tried a bit of stamping. It's fun and so rewarding for this stay-at-home-mom! Michelle

Me, I got nothing j/k. I am proud that while I didn't go to medical school, I figured out what doctors couldn't what would make me better AND stuck to my guns while they try to keep me sick. That I am most proud of. And will have to battle probably for the rest of my life I was so glad I got my sons second Marine book finished and handed off to him. I got lots of pages done during the year. Was able to do 2 projects for Christmas gifts. I am so glad I was able to welcome both of my heroes back home from deployments. I am so happy I have a home that all 4 of my kids want to come home to. Now to work on resolutions for this year, lol. Vicki

2010 was a very hard year. I guess my accomplishments are more of "survivals" I survived being audited (or am working on surviving) I survived 1st born getting drivers license (still working on that one too) I survived roof leaking right over my bed (with the 3 ton A/C next to it) I survived science camp with 23 6th graders and the drama that goes with them I survived Dad being in the hospital 3 times (and better yet he did too) I sure am glad 2010 is over!!!!! Michelle, This is a great thread! What am I proud of - well here is my list: I am proud through constant battling with the school my son is now in a better classroom with teachers that he feels comfortable with instead of having daily panic attacks about going into school and having to deal with a bad teacher. I am proud to still be here and to have been able to be part of everyday in 2010 good and bad. I am proud I can use copic markers with some degree of success. LOL Proud to have started my own blog. Proud to have been able to guide my son toward better friends. Ones that really care about him. Proud to have been able to set up an IEP for my daughter so she is progressing now in school. Proud of her too. Proud to have been able to go with my family on two lovely vacation this year! They were wonderful. Something we never did before. I could go on but you get it.

I think the one thing for 2010 I'm proud of is that I got my father's house cleared out (huge house in a small village, my parents and grandma were typical WWII generation and kept all kinds of of stuff "somebody might need in bad times" so LOTS of work) and got it sold just in time before our government began to discuss a law that by 2050 all houses in Germany need to be "zero energy houses", which means the house mustn't use any energy to heat or cool the house - all you need for this purposes must get managed by good isolation or solar energy. It's not yet sure if this law will come, but the discussion alone makes big older houses almost impossible to sell.
I admit I didn't get much scrapping done in 2010, but I think my cardmaking improved - from just using up supplies to having fun with a small project. I'm looking forward to scrapping more in 2011.

Michelle, this is a great thread! For me: I took on two challenges this year that intimidated me - applying for the Scrapyland Design Team, and applying for a part-time job in medical research. I was accepted for both (though not for the DT the first time around), and have loved doing both! I'm usually not a risk-taker, so it was very hard for me to "put myself out there" (thanks Keith for the encouragement!). It was especially tough to re-apply for the design team after not making it the first time. Both of these jobs have been fun and rewarding. The research has helped me (re)learn more about the basic science underlying my medical practice, and to work with some terrific doctors, nurses and patients. And the DT, well, this is one of the best experiences in my life! Doing things I really love to do (scrapping, stamping, crafting), and getting rewarded for it with such lovely comments and encouragement is heavenly! Working with Dani, Susan, Karen, Michelle, and all the Divas is such a pleasure. So, at the beginning of 2011, I'm so happy I took some risks in 2010, and resolve to continue to do so in 2011! Happy New Year! Gail P.S. Jenn, I'm with Dania. Kudos for the belly dancing, and a video recital would be very cool! Dawn, please share the address for your blog!

Jenn, you are my hero. Belly dancing and jogging in the cold. Rock on!
So, for those of us who didn't manage to lose 10 lbs in 2010 or were tempted by the Mickey D's drive thru, you still accomplished quite a bit! So be proud of yourselves. I'm always amazed at the strength of women.

I'm proud I tried something new. I joined ScrapyLand Message Board back in February 2010, and found place to share my love of card making and paper crafts. I've made new friends, learned new paper crafting techniques and (LOL) even learned new computer skills. Best thing I did all year!!! LOL Even better than the 6 lbs I lost and have kept off this year!LOL

these are all great ladies - we should ALL be proud of what we accomplished! Heck - for me just getting out of bed some days feels like an accomplishment! Be proud that we're still here, still finding reasons to smile - and still finding the strength, the time, and the memories to scrap!!! My favorite new phrase though - thanks to this thread - "Life's short so shimmy!" I LOVE IT!

Life is short so Shimmy. Jenn This is my new quote for 2011! Susan, for me the achievement is not going BACK to bed! After the kids leave, it's so tempting to crawl back into that nice warm bed! And then to head out to walk Big Dog on these cold mornings... BRRRR! Michelle

Great idea for this thread Michelle! This year started off with a bang for me with the announcement of the 1st SLDT. I was so proud to be chosen to have so much fun with such a great group of people. It was such a thrill to see my stuff displayed on the SL Blog! Susan is a great Scrap Boss and getting my eyes and hands on the dies early was blissful. I also got to meet and SCRAP with her, thanks again Susan! My other accomplishment that I am proud of is completing another year of being pharmacy manager at my pharmacy. I love being a pharmacist, but I never thought I was cut out to be a manager. It has been very challenging and I am still standing! I took on this daunting task on 10-8-08 and I told myself that I would do it for one full calender year to prove to myself that I COULD do it and now I am at 2 years! Now I feel as though I can hand over the position to my partner without any hint of feeling like I wasn't successful at it. (Even though my boss said that he won't let me step down---we will see! Maybe next year I will be writing about that on a 2011 Accomplishments thread!) LOL) So, thanks Michelle and everyone who posted on this thread! It is great to think back and be proud of the past year instead of just looking ahead to more resolutions (that I am usually not good at keeping! )

Karen Seriously Karen any and all musical ability skip this branch of the family tree right to my three twigs......they got my share plus their own. Cat, I can beat you. When the kids were babies, I would put the kids to bed at night, rocking them and singing to them. DS was about a year and a half old and one night, he put his tiny little hand up to my mouth and said, 'No sing, Mommy." How bad of a singer do you have to be when a 18 month old tells you not to sing? Michelle
