Here a few cards that I made over the weekend, after being introduced to the land of die-cutting by my BFF! I had mostly stamped cards before. It is much easier to die-cut nesting rectangles, than to try and get them straight with a paper cutter. And I love embossing now! And fingers crossed, I mastered posting photos!

Thanks, I had fun making them. I like having more fancy cards to mail. I wanted something sort of manly and fancy for hubby (He got the Thank you card). He is Mr. Precise, so I thought he would appreciate the extra glueing and cutting. For me, this was a big change. I am getting great ideas from here. Thanks for all the great projects and tips.

Now, why am I not surprised that you send DH a thank you card? For those of you who don't know Crafty Girl, she is every mama and grandma's dream. ALWAYS has her thank you notes done by the new year, complete with REAL thanks and lovely things to say about each and every gift, even if it's some $1 notepad that I saw at Mike's and thought she should have! Your mama taught you well, Crafty Girl!

Gee, thanks Michelle, now I know why you are my BFF! I am sending my mom a link to this page, so she can see that she did a good job, at least on me! And that was a cool $1 notepad.

Thanks everyone! I am pretty addicted to card-making too, right now. As soon as I get ahead, Dania, I'll put one into the mail for you.

Love your cards! I especially like the Thank You card - its so hard for me to do cards for guys, and this one's great. What embossing folder did you use for the background? (So I can steal your idea!! ;D) Thanks for posting these. Gail

Beautiful cards! I love embossed backgrounds, they make the cards look really special.
Gail, I think the embossing folder on the Thank You card is by Cuttlebug, one of the new larger ones.

The embossing folder on the thank you card is indeed by Cuttlebug. It is called "Clockworks" and is 5"x7". I also used it for a Hello card for my dad. I am trying to dream up a way to use it again for Hubby for Valentine's Day.
