I have the original, my hubs has ordered the second version - and dear daughter is slated to get one for graduation from her aunt and uncle.

Seriously reading on them is divine - calendar, watching movies, iTunes, sending emails, internet browsing...etc!!!!

Get Rose one Dani - she'd love it and the kiddos would too!

DH will probably have one soon...he's gone back and forth on getting one, since he got a Droid last year that does mostly the same things, but on a much smaller screen. I see him looking longingly at them when he sees the ones that his friends have.

yeah I am toying with getting Ipad 2 when it gets released. I want it mostly for the warehouse when customers walk in and are looking at Magnolia stamps, i dont have a real way of showing them what stamps look like unless I give them my computer to see designs. With the ipad it will be so much easier.

Susan since you are such an Apple junkie, can you get discounts on their stuff?

I have Apple envy. First my BFF and now all of you. I have a Touch, but I want the pad. I just love the touch screen!

And Dani? You could just print off the images and put them in a binder for customers. Unless you are looking for a reason to justify the iPad???

I have to chime in on this one! We are Mac addicts. We have 4 laptops & one desk top in our home!

We got one for our autistic son and my husband is trying to figure out if he really likes it. It looks cool but I'm still not sold on them! The new one will be much better because it will be faster and have a camera. After playing with it myself I would vote for another laptop! But I'm not a true techie!

For discounts I recommend trying refurbished way cheaper and the item arrives brand new and has the same warranty as a new apple product.

If you are only using for that reason a digital photo album would be a cheaper solution.

No Ipads at our house. Laptops, netbooks....since DS is able to repair circuit boards and most anything that breaks we have old models of everything.

Right now we're buying everything with my daughter's student discount. But the price of the new iPad didn't go up - still $499! It's a great deal in my book!

It may have been a mistake, but I've been reading the posts on this thread to DH...and now he has this "Ipad glint" in his eye! He just informed me that the Ipad 2 is available to purchase tomorrow...now how would he know that unless he was pondering the purchase?

I agree with Dawn, a digital photo frame would be cheaper or even the images in a binder like Michelle said would work. That way you could get the Ipad to use for other parts of the busniess.......even get a baby web cam thingy to check in on your soon to be new addition.

DS carries his netbook everywhere so if there are computer problems at his work he can take care of them.

I feel better now. All my friends have the latest and greatest tech toys. I have a Compaq Presario computer that is a 2004 model. I pent $100.00 having it fixed and cleaned up because I did not want to spend the money on a new computer. All my Mac friends are trying to get me to get a Mac anything. But then again I am so tech challenged that I got rid of my Sil because I decided I rather use scissors and my squeeze.

I had 2-3 days of and since I am a tech junkie I got the Ipad 2. Only thing is there is a 3-4 week wait period!!!

I have the first iPad, received as a gift, enjoy for travel, reading my kindle books and watching videos, great for entertaining the grand kids in the waiting room at the doctors.

I hope the bugs are fixed on your ipad 2there has been quite a few complaints, also make sure you get the one with 64, storage, runs better than the lower memories.

The family is fighting over who gets my touch, but that comes in handy every now and then!

Well, if you don't feel the love soon, I bet your kids would take it off your hands for you! I mostly have games. My tip is to get all the free apps you can. Some apps have a free version which is lite, you can get a feel for it and decide it you like and want to buy the full version. There are sections under iTunes with different categories of "essentials". If you want a game, Angry Birds sure gets a lot of good press.

I love Scrabble, Tetris, DoodleJump. The kids will like Bubble Popper and 100s of Buttons and Sounds and Air Horn. (those are free.)
