Ds's poster about a bridge (construction and history) for his science class was due today. He did a good job, everything printed and spaced out neatly (not always his strong point) and when he left the class room he heared the teacher say to her college: "I can't believe he cut out all the letters for the title, and so evenly" You guessed right, I let him use my Bigshot and Mary Jane, and yep, personal diecutters are not very well known in Germany. ;D

I wonder if my kids' teachers say that, too? DS just did a poster for English class on Animal Farm. We were shizzing that poster up big time, printing titles out in fancy fonts and he was using my trimmer to cut and mat his photos. I thought it looked great! But he just rolled his eyes when I told him that I had pig die cuts. And neatness isn't his best attribute, either.

Funny, Funny!!! When my son was in about 4th grade I suggested to him that he use my stuff to make his poster and he REFUSED!!! He never liked crafts and only wanted to do the least amount of effort for the project. He drew everything by hand with pencil!!! Cindy

He never liked crafts and only wanted to do the least amount of effort for the project. He drew everything by hand with pencil!!! Cindy This was my DS. But then he got a B in a class where he easily could have gotten an A. When he asked the teacher what he could do, the teacher told him to put in more effort. Now when he slaps a project together, I tell him to spend 15 more minutes jazzing something up, adding another detail, adding another paragraph. It really helped to hear it from the teacher!

I've let both kids loose in my scrap area when they were working on their science fair posters. Both turned out great.... The hardest part was for me NOT to get involved and let them layout the poster they way they wanted to. LOL! Pam
