Oh boy, a person could go crazy at that site!
So what do you do for payment? Do you guys do a subscription or use the preloaded cards or just pay? I have two cards--one came with the Sil and the other one was in the clearance bins at ACM. I think I could go a little crazy on that site!

I have a subscription. I got it when they had a discount last year. I pay $8.00 for $25 worth of designs. It was every month for a year. It's getting ready to end, hope they have another one. Designs are 75 cents till I think Tuesday. Michelle, I'd contact Silhouette about those download cards. I got an e-mail stating when they were going to stop allowing those to be used. I don't remember when they said but I'd contact them and check. Would hate to lose them. I was warned that when your sub expires, you lose the amount in your acct so I have to pay attention next month to make sure I don't lose any credit. Vicki

Vicki, really??? The card that came with the thing doesn't work? Ooooo, that could really irritate me. I'm thinking I need to get that running sooner rather than later. We are supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow tomorrow. I'm thinking I need a crafting day with the Sil to take my mind off the outdoors. Snow is now a four letter word at our house!

Michelle, try to use up your download cards ASAP, as they do expire! I have a subscription (not unlimited), but don't use up all my $ each month. They do carry over, but as Cindy said, be sure to use up all your credit before your subscription expires or it dsiappears!! I'll probably continue with a subscription at a lower amount when its time for me to renew. Gail

So it sounds like I want a higher subscription at first, and then lower it later? That makes sense. I have a lot of images to catch up on, but then will only need what they release each month. How many shapes/images are released in a month?
I've been looking at the Sil box for 3 months now. I just don't want to deal with the computer issues. But Dani just shipped me an EP Playground and I have Springtime already. This just may be the motivation that I need!

Seriously, Michelle, set up's not hard (even I could do it! LOL). I did my original set up with the older software, and the New Silhouette Studio software is even easier to install. One hint - the cutter connects through a USB port to your computer. It should have its own port - don't connect it through a USB splitter! I did this at first, and my cuts started, stopped, skipped and burped. Support was wonderful, but they couldn't figure it out. Once I plugged the Sil directly into the USB port, it worked like a charm! The releases happen every week, and the number of images varies. Usually at least 30, sometimes more, especially at the holidays. There's a free shape each week, and periodic sales (right now all images are 75 cents, except for the licensed Peter Rabbit ones). There's a clearance section of older images for half price, too. I agree, since you don't have many images yet, I'd go for a bigger subscription for now. You can downgrade next year once you're primarily buying the new images, and can figure out how big a budget you need each month. You do get significant cost savings per image when you subscribe... Feel free to PM or E-mail if you have problems, but you're gonna love it, kiddo!!! Gail

I recently renewed my Platinum subscription. $20 a month for $150 worth of shapes, and you have 2 months to spend the money. I easily use up the credit each month. And it's a way to feel like I'm getting to go on a craft shopping spree without really doing so.

Oh.yea Chelle!..I forgot about your subscripton fee being so good. Basketlady Michelle, my Chelle has enjoyed her shopping sprees alot and has managed to spend alot less than D#1 and I do. I know she prints out some of the shapes on her Sil and then use her Copics to color them. She does get her money's worth. Cat

Chelle has shared some of her work and it is gorgeous! I used my download card and got a ton of shapes to start with. I'm debating if I should get the subscription now or wait a bit and see what I use. I know there was an unlimited subscription a while back and I hear that pops up every now and then.
