okay ladies - I need your help!!! I'm an emotional wreck - not in a bad way, in a good way I guess. Maybe just typing it out will help me get over it... I picked up the CD of my daughter's senior pictures - I spent a good chunk of late last night printing pictures up to scrapbook. So they were all laid out on my scrap table last night when I went to bed. When I came in here this morning I just lost it...seriously - tears in my coffee, tight chest from trying to cry quietly - GOSH - I'm a wreck! Luckily - my husband followed in our office a few minutes later and just sortof laughed at me but offered a hug. WAH - what do I do with all of these pictures??? Each and every one is wonderful - I love 'em all. Each shot brings up different stories and ideas, memories, and thoughts and wishes. But goodness - I can't spend the next 6 weeks just scrappin' pictures of the girl! LOL - we'll be sick of each other by then!! So - I'm actually thinking photo album. I'm thinking scrap a few pages of favorites right now and then print the rest for just a picture album. Of course I can always go back and scrap other shots later - but I'm talking about right now. Heck, if I get this emotional over every single print I could be seriously dehydrated by May 26th! LOL So does just a photo album sound like the way to go? I have 85 images and I think if I just print them up in 5x7 {as that's the size I scrap most often for my personal pages} then they'd at least be ready to grab and scrap in the future. So do I look for a 5x7 picture album? Any suggestions? I use the WeR albums and will often stick a pocket page within the pages that just hold 4x6 pictures...but I've never really done an entire photo album. Better refill the Kleenex box here in my office - LOL - I'm working on my favorite pictures first. UGH - I'm going to be an emotional wreck in a month...HAHAHAHAH....you all won't make fun of me will you?? LOL - I need to take my son out for a photo session just so I can mix up my attention...HAHAHA!!! Album suggestions for just straight photos - much appreciated everyone! Happy scrappy weekend!!

Since scrapping albums is not my thing... I ironically might be in a position to offer so useful advice for a change... I buy Kolo albums... they are high end, but gorgeous...I print the photos, write a dedication page for the first page of the album and call it a day. Here is the link. There is a 5 by 7 album kolo.com/shop/products/ Jenn

No making fun from this Mom. I understand completely.... ..... I wasn't a scrapbooker (my pictures are in a box) so I can't really make a good suggestion. But all of you ladies on the MB are having a influence on me. (that and I found details get mixed up and we recently recieved a box full of old old family pictures with no names or facts...Just pictures )Pictures do need journaling. A 5x7 album with a journaling page facing the picture would work for now. Hugs & complete understanding being sent your way Susan! Cat

I soooo cannot laugh at you!!!! My kid is only 16 and I already cry about him turning 18 and leaving me for adulthood I have often joked about buying the house next door so he can live there when he gets married Then I can buy the house on the other side for Daughter. I love your idea of regular albums and then scrapping a few now. Target has some nice ones. Those Kolo albums looked really nice too. Cindy

Oh, Susan!! You don't have to scrap all of them, hon... I think in the past you mentioned the 12x12 album pages that have 4x6 photo pockets. What about scrapping a few pages of your favorites, then putting the rest in pocket pages? You can use some of the pockets for journaling, ideas on layouts, or even embellishments. Then when/if inspiration hits, you can empty the pockets and whip up a page! Remember, this should be fun, not hard. One of my rules of life is, if it isn't clear what you should do, wait until you're sure. Procrastination can be a wonderful thing! Good luck, sweetie! I know with those awesome photos, its hard to decide. It will be a great album no matter what you do. Gail

I am terrible with giving advice so my opinion is to hurry up and take the boy out and get some awesome pics of him!!! Then you can have twice the fun/delima! But seriously, life is short, scrap your favs first! And I can't wait to see some pages of the boy! He has the same name that I picked out for the boy that I never had, so of course I am a little sweet on him! Good Luck! I know it will be GREAT!

Wow Susan! Your emotional breakdown is soooo normal for all Mom's (at the very least the majority of them.) My baby is 2 going on 3 this June and I'm already doing this. One can't help it but think back on all those wonderful memories you've shared together from the moment you found out you were expecting to the moment you looked into each other's eyes for the first time and many others. Life is grand when you live it with love and joyfulness. As for your pictures: I agree with Jenn. Put as many pictures as you can to fill up your pages, scrapbooking is awesome to highlight specific pictures. I already have close to 3K pics and I'm still at the beginning phase of my baby imagine that. So enjoy putting all your pictures into a book so they can be remembered and at the end of your book make a special note from you and Dad to your Daughter it will be a treasure she can take with her forever along with her scrapbooks. Take care.

Oh, Susan! Here's what I do with a ton of pictures (and believe me, I just took about a gazillion of my 3 little grandsons...and a few of their mom ;D). I put them in a "temporary" photo album, until I can come back later (maybe when I'm a little more objective...or not) and decide which will be scrapbooked. Later on, (usually much, much later) some will go into a photo filing box so that they don't get tossed away. I like the idea of the photo pockets, and I've done that, too. Just for the record, and a bit of a warning ( ;D), if you think it's hard looking at the photos, wait until you drop her off at college. When we left my daughter at BYU for the first time, I cried all the way from Provo until we were well out on the Salt Flats on our way back to California without her. We went back and visited only 6 weeks later...our excuse was that we "needed" to try out a new car to see if it could handle long trips!

Susan I also went through this 4 times. When # 4 went to college I left her at college in Sioux Center, Iowa and then traveled to South Dakota and vacationed for 5 days and then came back and spent 3 days in a hotel by her so I could make sure she was alright. That was my excuse. She was fine. I was not. It does get easier but I still miss my children and grandchildren. As for scrapping the photos. File them and pick your favorites. I go back to old photo's all the time whenever I need a memory. I still have boxes to scrap. I will never run out. I am more selective now though. Hugs to you. I can feel the pain. Love, Deborah

Susan, First of all Each and every one of those photos is a winner! This is a huge transition time--for all of you. Of course you are sad! But you are getting to the good parts. When you will have not only a daughter, but a friend. When the day to day discipline is put aside and you can just enjoy the person Lizzie has become. What if you did an 8x8" or 8 1/2 x 11" book? You can just use a basic layout that is similar throughout the entire book, with a photo on each page. Or a 12 x12" book with 2 photos on a page. That way, you can do a "real" layout for the photos that really inspire you and the others can be seen. What a lovely book that would be to display at her graduation. I've done with with vacation albums. The books go together so quickly because I've already chosen papers and embellies. I use one background paper and some sort of page embellishment. Done! And the pictures are there for all to see and not hidden in the computer.

Susan, you have to give yourself permisson to not scrap all the pictures. I know you have chosen your favorites (hard to choose as all of them are terrific) Enjoy scrapping them. I think you need to have a photo shoot of the boy and or the entire family - that will help you mix it up! Consider uploading her pictures to an on line service and do a digital book. OR - We R Memories has several different formats for 12x12 pages and they can be fun but not as much work and can even have some paper and journalling spots. Whatever you choose will be right for you at the time. Enjoy all the moments! Hugs Karen

Oh Susan, I am so glad for you that you have such wonderful memories as you looked at each picture. Your response just shows how much you love her. I love your tender heart....
I am not a scrapper so my vote is easy! I vote for a photo album. I know I am in the minority but I just love looking at the pictures. Maybe write her a letter that can be tucked into the book that is just for her to read:-)

I understand completely Susan; my daughter is graduating this year as well. I think I would do what Gail said with the page sleeves. WeR Memory Keepers has so many variations of the 12x12 page sleeves for different size pics. They even have a 12x12 page sleeve that holds 2 5x7's and then you could put some smaller photos or journaling blocks, or titles, etc. in the other pockets on those 12x12 sleeves.
On another note, I have used one of those handheld plastic bag sealers to re-seal page protectors that I have cut in half so I could use both halves for displays. It worked great but I've only sealed a new bottom closed after I cut them in half. Mine doesn't have a long reach so I couldn't get too far into the page to seal off spots if needed though but maybe there is something like that out there that you could seal your own sizes onto your page protectors.
