Search

I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem that I am. I want to search specific words on the message board. When I go to search I don't get any options to search with.

This has been going on for me for awhile and was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.

I've never even noticed that feature button before...LOL

but I just tried it and nothing comes up for me either. My guess is maybe it's a feature that just hasn't been enabled yet?!?!?!

I was curious and did a search, it didn't work the first time, since I wasn't logged in. I did two searches after that and got them to work. Do I get a prize? Here is what I think is the key to search button. It only seems to search that thread, and not the entire message board. So, if you had a general question in a more specific thread, you may not get any results. HTH!

when I click the SEARCH button up along the yellow title bar I just get a basically blank page. No place to type anything in to even search for?

I'm on a Mac, using Safari - wonder if that makes a difference?!?1/1?

When I hit the "search" button at the top of the page, I get a blank, too. But if I hit the "search" on the yellow line at the bottom of each separate forum, then I can actually search.

From my IPad, I get a search screen with a box when I use either the one at the top or the one at the bottom. Who knows!

I would love to be able to search the MB. It would be so convenient! But you know we start threads about the rain, then it goes into new releases/in stock items and then bam! We are talking about robbing banks! Would a search find that?

Maybe if it was a search where you could look in titles AND descriptions (sort of like Ebay), but I'm guessing that might be very expensive for Dani to use.

We do tend to hijack the threads, don't we? ;D

I also have a Mac and Safari, all with current updates. I used the search icon at the top left and got a search box that worked. Don't know the secret. I typed in "card" for one thread, and got back all posts that included the word card in the body of the message, since the thread was "what are you scrapping?". So, I guess you could type in "bank" or "robbery" and see all posts that mention bank robbery to support our shopping habits!

Interesting! I don't have a search icon in the top left corner. Just in the middle where "profile" and "new topics" are listed. I wonder why they are different?

Sorry, Michelle, you are missing out! Maybe it is a Mac/Safari thing, which would be weird, we usually have less features. Perhaps, it is a matter of what version of the browser you are using? Don't know!

For some reason only the search button by the threads work. The top one never worked. Maybe it is not supposed to but then why have it there.

Dani, thanks for that visual! I've never used the search because I never got it to work. I think I was using the top most link, so I guess that's why it didn't work!

I did some poking around. You can search under the different topics/headings and under an individual thread, but I didn't see where you can search the entire MB. But when I'm looking for those bank robbery plans, I now know where to look!

I swear when I first started coming to the message board, you could search the whole board.

I did that a lot in the beginning because I didn't want to ask questions that had already been answered.

That is why I was thinking I was losing my mind.

The reason I started all of this, was because I know there had been some conversations about Prima pencils I think??? I was interested in finding out what that was all about. I believe there were some Divas that love them. Buy.com had a special on Friday for a set for $10 and wondering if it is the same thing.

I use Prisma pencils. I think they are nice and creamy, esp with a blender. Susan showed a technique with a "stub" on one of her videos that I'd like to try.
