am I the only one that is struggling with the poor quality of the plastic or the fact that they are inconsistent and not all of the 2 x 2 dies will fit. I have spent several hundred dollars on die storage sheets only to get crap. I have cut my fingers so many times that it is ridiculous. How are you all storing your 2 x 2 dies?

You are soooo not alone!! My sheets are tearing and tight too!! I still store then in the sheets as I have not invested in any other system for 2x2's. Dani had some storage sheets here at Scrapyland that fit into a 3 ring binder that may work.

I use the regular sized QK binders, but I have this trouble, too. Unfortunately, the sizing for the 2x2 storage pockets seem to be especially inconsistent, but every now and then I run across a tight batch of 4x4 pockets.
It all just depends on the batch that you get, and I can't tell by the packaging if I have a good set of pockets or a bad set. And then there are the pockets that come with some font sets... And yep, I cut my fingers all the time. Ugh.
Your best bet is to call Lifestyle Crafts (the new QK) and ask to exchange the pockets. Do you have any sheets of the pockets that work? If so, ask to exchange the pockets and just stay on it until you have all good pockets. If they are all bad, tell QK that, too. They may be able to help find a solution.

I had this problem, too...especially when the All-in-One first was produced. QK, now LC, was more than willing to replace the defective ones.
I did discover, however, that if the pocket was only slightly tight that it would stretch a bit after a while (not enough to cause the dies to fall out, but just enough to make it easier to get the dies in or out of the pockets).
I never had this problem with any sheets but the 2x2's.

I've had this problem primarily with 2x2s but also with a few 4x8s. Still trying to find the best storage system for everything! Gail

I really like the 2x2 storage pages that Dani sells. They seem to be made from a thicker/higher quality material. But I can't throw out a whole system that I have invested so much time and money into so I am in a constant process of revising my storage for QK/LC... Currently I am using the 2x2 sheets mentioned above in a 3 ring binder for all my 2x2 shapes. I have a lot of QK binders so I am using them for my 2x2 fonts according to size. On the smaller fonts I cut out the name of the font in vinyl and put it on the back of the page so it is easier to identify. (I am having to throw out some sheets that are defective along the way, but since I am putting my shapes in the 3 ring binder I have some to spare.) I like the all in one binder for the border dies and 4x8's. I also have a long pencil case for the borders that don't fit into the AI1 binder like the tree with branches, etc. I use plastic DVD sleeves for my 4x4's. (I purchased these at Target.) I can slip the picture from the package in front of the die on each side so I can easily see it through the plastic and it helps me know how to assemble it too. I can even fit a double die in each side. I am starting a new system for my cookie cutter shapes that I saw on another thread on this MB and I am REALLY liking it. It is the one with the clear folders and the magnetic sheets on mat board. I am using mat board from Hobby Lobby (on sale last week and magnetic sheets from various sources with the clear folders from Staples. I can put the picture from the package in the back of the folder or adhere it to the non-magnetic side. I am using my magnetic folders for cc fonts with the name cut from vinyl and put on the flap. (I got this idea from Susan and I love it! I get an idea of size and I don't have to open up the folder!) I did not know this was going to be so long but I hope it helps---MB P.S. I thought I was the only one who had ever gotten a cut from a die! I really hate when it happens because I can't work as well with band-aids on my fingers and then I don't want to bleed on my project!

I have to admit that I don't buy 2 x 2 dies anymore so I haven't had any storage problems with them.
I was having horrible problems with the 4 x 4 storage sheets and am now using big zippered CD binders. They work perfectly, aren't terribly expensive and I have not cut my fingers once.
Some of the CD binders will hold 200 CD's! That's a lot of dies.
I hope you have success contacting lifestyle crafts and that they fix your problem.

Barbara, 200 is a big number for storing 4x4's.
I have about that in my CD binder and have found it really heavy. For me, i don't take my dies anywhere so it isn't much of a problem. If you think you want to be more portable, you may want a smaller number of dies in a CD case.
I do love this method of storing my 4x4's and my 4x8 alphabets. I think when i run out of wall space for my magnetic sheets, i will give the clear folders a try.

Karen, it does get heavy. I have a smaller version of the case if I was to travel with them to a crop or something. I don't have any local Scrapbook stores where I live so I don't go to crops.
I used to enjoy them in South Carolina.
I'm going to have to figure out a system for all these cookie cutter dies and the bigger shapes. I'm thinking the clear folders with a magnetic sheet would be a good solution.

I can't imagine a binder with 200 dies! My binder holds 128. Even that gets really heavy and it's not even full. I had to really hunt to find a smaller binder. But I'm glad that I did.
I keep the paper doll dies, CC Country sets and my 4x8 fonts in the binder. I cut magnetic sheets to fit the pocket and the Country dies are added onto that. I keep most of my 4x4s with the 2x2 dies in a binder, but it works to keep these dies separate since I don't use them as much. Because the binders are deeper, you can hold more dies in a smaller space. And the binder was only about $20, including the pockets.

I'd love to see some photos of your binders, ladies! I've gone back and forth between binders, magnetic storage, Magpie tins, and assorted stuff from the office stores. Guess I keep changing my mind, 'cause none of these systems really works for me!! I really want a magic system that accommodates any size die, takes up little space, and is very portable... I think my expectations need to be lowered a bit! Gail

I have a variety of systems--the CD binder, QK binders, magnet walls, magnet sheets on chipboard in a file... I'll put up some pictures later tonight.

I am glad I am not the only one with defective pocket pages. The 4x8 ones are the worst for me closely followed by the 4x4. I had not had any trouble with the 2x2 until this last package I picked up at my lss. Just for giggles I got a die from an older set of 2x2 and a die from the brand new cotton candy and there is a difference in the size of the metal dies. Cotton Candy is about 1/64th bigger than the older set.
I am thinking that quality control needs to be stepped up a notch with the new manufacture of the dies and the strorage sheets.

I had several bad batches of 2 X 2 sheets and QK was very good about replacing them. I simply sent them an email describing the issue and telling them the name of the store where I purchased them. They replaced them very quickly.
I also have a number of methods for storing dies. My 2 X 2 shapes are in the All in One binders sorted by theme. My 2 X 2 alphabets are in the Magpie because they are easy to transport and store nicely. My 4 X 4's, 4 X 8's, and embossing folders are in the All in One binders also. They are by theme as well and are in the same All in One as the 2 X 2's with the same theme. If I am going to work on Christmas, for instance, I only have to pull the All in One that is labeled 'Christmas' and all the dies of 2 X 2 and 4 X 4 are together. Most of my cookie cutter shapes and the border dies are sticking to the walls in my scrapbook room. I have two short walls that I covered with magnetic sheets and they work beautifully - I can see all the shapes and I can sort like items together. When I need a circle, for instance, they are all together and it is easy to check sizes. When I am going to a crop I take a few empty magnetic binders and load up the cookie cutter dies I think I might use. My cookie cutter alphabets are in the magnetic binders.
I am reminded of my daughter's comment to me when I began to accumulate items as I started this hobby, "Mom, is this scrapbooking thing about buying the stuff, organizing the stuff, or using the stuff?". I answered "yes".

i keep all my 2x2's in the magpies, which i hope they BRING BACK!!!! and 4x4 magpies would be great too! but since they don't! ;D i use a bread basket! i keep the cardboard pic of the die and put the die behind it and keep them in some semblance of order - ie Christmas, school, camping etc.... my alpha cc's are in the qk magnetic binders and the nesting dies are in an old library drawer that NEEDS to be altered!!! g45 here i come! i don't have a whole lot of dies though compared to a lot of you but i still have quite a few for my small space and i have found this method very compact and 'eye' pleasing at least to me i will get zak to help me with some pics when he has a day off later this week
