When you are scrapbooking, do you make single page layouts or double page layouts? If you answer both, why do you scrap the way you do? Happy NSD!

I use 12x12 albums for double-paged layouts (the reason that I use mostly post-bound albums to avoid the gap in the middle).
For smaller albums, they're usually one-page layouts, so the gap doesn't really matter. I generally make 1-photo layouts in the smaller albums, but have put smaller, multiple pictures on a single page.
Most of my albums are 12x12, because they have more room to tell a story.

It all depends on the photos whether I will do a single or double page layout. If I have a lot of pictures I am more likely going to do a two page spread especially if I just can't weed out enough pictures for just a 1 page layout. Also, if there are time constraints I am more likely to go with a 1 pager. I sure do like a two page layout though!!!

It all depends on the number of pictures I have for that event/outing - 1 page / 2 page / 3 pages - - - -
My issue is that I scrap in order and I believe that is preventing me from scrapping more

I picked double page layouts because I just think it looks better when the two pages coordinate. I have recently started doing single layouts (to participate in the blog activities) but still arrange the second page to sort of go.
I totally scrap out of order. I get too excited when I bring home a new pack of pics that I cannot wait to get to it.

Most of the time I scrap double page lay outs. (I have so much pictures and I can't pick only one to scrap.) I like the pages to be coordinated. So, just like Cindy, when I make a single page, I try to coordinate the colors for the page next to it. Last two years I make only 30x30. I don't use albums, I bind it myself: books for special vacations, and also a year book for all the other lay outs. I don't use plastic covers, because I like to hide more pictures or the journaling under my pictures.

I gave up rules a long time ago. I sometimes scrap three pages. I think it was Diane that told me about the pages that flip open so you can have a three page layout.

It depends on how many pictures I have for the page. That being said, I'm more likely to do single page layouts these days... I prefer to weed out the less than great pix, settle on a select few, and put them on a single page. My earlier work is mostly double-pagers, though. Like Dania, I try to avoid any rules. Best move I ever made was realizing I didn't have to scrap chronologically. Some of my favorite pages contain pictures from different decades! Gail

I have to admit, 99% of what I do are DPL. I like how it looks and I usually have a story that goes with the photos. A DPL gives me lots of room for journaling. I take a ton of photos, but my photography skills are lacking. So my photos don't stand on their own well. I'm a much better writer than photographer!

When I started scrap-booking ( the small amount I did) I didn't realize there were rules.....then I went some classes/meetings and I found out my stuff didn't meet with the rules ....what I had done wasn't acceptable or right ........so now I sorta/kinda do my own thing when I scrap (and keep it private)..... it was way to stressful for me to follow all those rules, it wasn't fun (it was like being in school and not being able to please the teacher no matter what you did ) "Shutter"......part of the reason I stick with my first love "Cards". Sorry ladies, I got interrupted while writing my comment.....and forgot to mention.....that I having been watching Susan's blog and have learned a lot of useful tips about scrap-booking. The main thing I have learned is my scrap booking wasn't all that bad after all.......it just didn't follow all of the rules.......... I did order a Strawberry colored 12x12 album and some assorted pages for myself .....thinking; I'll serious give it another real try. (Not the random page here and there I've been doing) Cat
