Morning everyone:
I think it's time for me to buy a binding machine and I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the Cinch or Bind-It-All. I've watched some videos on utube but still would like everyones opinion.
I'm leaning towards the cinch.
What do you use?
Thank you,
Barb

Pixie, I've had the Bind-It-All for several years and really love it! I have no experience with the Cinch, but to me it looks very similar. Since it's wider than the BIA, it probably will be easier to punch your project, but that also means its heavier and takes up more space! I think I'd go with the Cinch if I were you, but I don't think you could go wrong with either one! HTH Gail

I don't have either one - but I've used both of them. Like Gail said - size is a big issue, and would be if I was going to buy one. I'd totally go BIA just based on size alone. Smaller, more compact, lighter weight, could slide in a drawer. Their reputation is great too - I always figure that in this scrapbooking market if a tool/product isn't good it won't last very long. And BIA has been around for years!!! {and I love their corner rounders!} And Dani has the BIAs {in pink!!} in stock today www.scrapyland.com/category_s/227.htmyou could probably have it by early next week!!!

Good point, Susan! I've had the pink one since it first came out, used it tons, and it's still like new. I've punched through heavy chipboard, stacks of cardstock, heavy acetate, even matboard with no problems. In one project in the BIA book, someone even punched through license plates to use as album covers! (Haven't tried that one, though!) ;D I take the cheap composition books that kids use in school (the ones with the black marble-patterned covers that have a sewn spine), take them apart, trim the pages, trim and cover the covers with decorative paper, bind them, and give them as gifts. They only cost about $2 to make, and the recipients seem very impressed. They make great journals. I use one of mine to hold Susan's Starting Blox diagrams! Anyway, if you do go for the BIA, feel free to PM me if you have questions or need some ideas! Gail P.S. Dani's price is great! I paid waaay more than that!

I also have the Bind It All and love it!!! I only wish mine was PINK I bought the blue one just before the pink one became available. It is easy to use and fits nicely on my shelf. It cuts all kinds of materials. Cindy

Cindy, I'll take some pix this weekend, and post them on this thread. They are really a cinch to make, and during Back To School season you can get the Comp books for a song! If you want some instructions after seeing them, just let me know. Luv2Scrap, I think you'll really get a lot of use out of binding machine. You can make any book or album, from whatever you want (within reason!), in the size and color you want. I recycle a lot of the cardboard backing from paper pads into covers! HTH Gail

I as well have the BIA. Mine is the orginal blue one and I haven't had to trade up at all.
Some folks don't like the having to move the paper along in the BIA, and prefer the one punch of the Cinch, but for me it isn't a big deal. Like Gail, I love doing projects withmy BIA.
Size and weight are an issue for me and the compact size of the BIA wins.
