Jenn what is on you revolution right now? The squareish 4x4 platform that came with your Rev? Or the "upgraded" long platform that was added to the line about a year after the Rev introduction?
The Rev only has 2 platforms - the original and the upgrade which is 12"

The upgrade is still in the box.... so it must be the 12 inch. Guess I should open the box and use it... I think I have had it for a few years. Jenn

There are some screws on the 4" platform. You just unscrew them and slide the 4" platform out. Then slide the 12" platform in. You only use one platform at a time--the 4" or the 12".
Personally, I never use the 4" platform. It's stored in the Rev case. I do use both the 4" and the 12" cutting mats. When I'm cutting something small, the 4" mat is perfect because I don't need to crank the entire 12" length through.
Tip: when you remove the 4" platform, screw the screws back onto the platform before you store it. That way, you don't need to worry about losing them.

I'm happy to help! We've had some pretty cool weather here, too. But the past week has been warm and I finally feel like summer is here!

WAIT!!!!! jenn!!!!!! i have one of the original revs!! maybe you don't have to take the 4" off the new ones? Michelle's instructions are perfect! One other caution...just be aware that since the 12" platform "rests" on the tool and IS NOT screwed on, it may be subject to sliding out if you tilt the tool, or carry it to another spot. (It really smarts if it slides out on your foot! )

My 4x4 platform is in the box too. I only use the 12" platform.
Another tip- you have to give the platform a little help getting started. Because it does not use the gears you have to push it until the clear mat, (die, paper) catches and then it will roll on through.

I have 2 revolutions, one 1 kept the original platform on and the other has the 12". I picked up the second one when my LSS was either going to move to another location or close, They sold off everything at great prices and I was able to pick up for a song. Perhaps you can find a good deal. I also bought one at a great price from another Diva and that I give to one of my less blessed fellow scrapping buddy. Just another option for you to think about.

Good point, Cindy. I usually try to offset my mat from the die, just a bit. It gives the Rev something to grab onto as it pulls the platform through. It's still my favorite machine and it's such a work horse!

I am like luv to scrap . I also have two. Got me second one for $20.00 when a store sold out. I keep the small one on one and the large on the other. I have my Epic to but only use it to emboss and for the large dies. someday I may infest in the vagabond. It has had good reviews. When the arthritis hits I will go electric but for now my Rev. is my choice.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I have 3 Revs! (I purchased 2 of them at incredibly low prices). Like a couple of others, I keep the 4" platform on one, the 12" on another, and the third is still pristine in the case, having never been used...I'm saving it for the day that one of the first two totally gives up and I can't repair it with the extra gears that I bought before LC/QK only sold to those with broken gears (and I haven't had to use them yet!)
The Rev is still my favorite machine, too!

I am so with you, Diane, Deborah, and luv2scrap! I "only" have two Revs - I'm using my original, and have one I bought from Dani at a fabulous price when he moved his warehouse - it's there for backup, and as my security blanket! After all this time, its still my favorite machine. Gail

I have 2 Revs as well. I bought one just for the gears, before QK started making them again. It really is a great machine and the only one that I know of with the magnetic platform.

Can you buy the 12" again? I only have the regular Revolution and want the 12" platform with cutting mat.

Lorie Ann, you NEED that platform! It's so worth it and it will open up a ton of dies for you to work with that you haven't been able to cut with the 4" platform. Go for it!

DEFINITELY need - I'm trying to figure out how you've survived thing long without using a 12" border, a 4x8 font, a large cookie cutter shape, etc. Lorie Ann come on over to the dark side - the dark side being THE ABILITY TO USE a bigger and better selection of dies!!!
